Damn! I have to work on Sunday

really dissapointed in the festival this year. it seems like, every year, the number of local restaurants putting up stands and really giving you that festival-like feel goes down. nothing at all from new places like 'Snice. Brooklyn Fish Camp, who had a stand for the ages their first year with $3 mini-lobster rolls, just did oysters for $1.
Blue Ribbon, Stone Park, Bierkraft, and Bogota all had great stands, as always, but i expected a lot more from a lot of local places. -
I thought it was pretty nice, we did some shopping and I think, overall, the vendors were WAY nicer than the usual NY streetfair crap. Could have done without the rain.

i forgot my camera, but we walked all the way from 14th to the end and back. there are two spots that are higher up, and the view up 5th ave was spectacular. a sea of umbrellas mixed with the colorful vendor tents. really cool to see. corn on the cob cooking on every corner. smelled amazing. even the cops at the cross streets all seemed to be laughing. hoipe the rain didn't spoil the vendors sales too badly. the olive guy makes a mean jalapeno stuffed green olive...

"more lobsters will receive pink slips after december" -
I was so dissapointed it rained ! I could not make it in the morning and it was pouring by the time I got there. I felt bad for those who organized& participated...

A lot of vendors were prepared for the rain. I think those selling art were the ones that had the biggest problems.
Karl, recession or not, I bought 5 of those mini-lobster rolls a few years ago and, right next to one another, they were about twice the size of a regular lobster roll and about half the price...
...which probably answered my own question as to why they don't serve them anymore. -
i still think it was due to crustacean related layoffs
