  • Hi Piero,

I can confirm that the post came from your IP address. Are you sure no one else has access to your computer? I wouldn't rule out "hacking" or some glitch in Brooklynian, but in 3 years we haven't seen anything like that on the forums. In any case, I will go ahead and delete the post in question.

  • Positive!!!
I've been out of my house from 8 oclock in the morning till the time i noticed the post and it was like 2:45 pm.
I was in the beach and no one else was here in home...(i hope!!!)
Dont get me wrong.... who ever did that is trying to help my place, but this is not right way.
Any way thank you for dong for me.....
And i hope no one has an extra key for my apartment.
  • I just checked my computer internet History and there are no brookynian.com visited this morning.
  • How can you tell what ip address it's from? If I let people use my computer, but they use their own email, etc..am I liable for what they say? What is the ip address mean anyway?
    thnks

The moderators and admins can see what IP every post is made from, as well as what other user or users have posted from that IP before. To some extent you are responsible for activity on your own IP at home. For example, if someone used your computer to do something illegal online (such as downloading something they shouldn't), you would definitely be first on the list for any legal action or investigation that resulted from it.
  • but.... how they know my password???
brooklynian always ask for the password b4 you do a post.
Can the administrator erase this topic then.
    Nevermind.
  • Subject: Haha

Do you think maybe someone broke into your house, got onto your computer and posted about Tapas? I doubt it.

  • Once you are logged on to the site, unless you log off/quit your browser.. you'll probably still registered. In the past something similar has happened but it was usually a wife or husband that was reading the site and posted under the spouses account by accident.

Do you live with anyone? Is your wireless password protected?
  • ....Or is this a very weird publicity stunt?
  • Subject: Yes!

That would be brilliant! The Tapas managers are breaking into people's homes and leaving good comments about their Tapas establishments.
  • It was me.

Nefarious bastard! We should have known!
  • Hey Piero, maybe you're Schizo.
Set up a surveillance camera to record you at home.

IP addresses can change depending on your service provider and location (i.e. wi-fi service in a public place).
