Maybe the city will decide to give some oversight to construction and public safety...
...nah, best to keep building as many hi rise condos as fast as humanly possible. -
It's awful, really awful. However, I didn't think it warranted the 3 hours of non-stop emergency news coverage it got. Granted, it is a nasty situation and one person died, 2 more are still in the hospital, and that is really sad. But, there are nasty things that happen in this city every day that barely get a mention. I thought 3 hours was a little overboard.
In a cruel twist of fate, inspectors were at the site just yesterday investigating claims of hoisting over the street (which is illegal), but didn't shut the crane down or make any changes. This crane was erected after the mass-inspection after the last crane collapse at the Trump bldg earlier this year.
Howdy, Stranger!
