  • Hooray!!!!!!!!! I was at the flagship on Sunday and it was all changed around from the last time I was in there. I am looking forward to a brand spanking new store. Hee hee.
  • BFD! why is this such a big deal...if you want to shop there, shop there. if you don't like the products or have no use for what they carry then keep walking.
i'm all for the underdog small business owner who gives it a go. i may just have to stop in to support them! :?
  • It's a big deal when you need a new toy or some awesome game or lube or something, or if your strap breaks.......... anyway, it's right in your neighborhood!!!! Lovely loveliness!!!!!!!!
  • I was walking by the storefront yesterday and a woman looked at it and commented "Bump, Babeland...geez, does every store on this block have something to do with babies?"

I thought about correcting her, but I didn't want to ruin the future comic moment when she shows up there looking for a baby gift.

I think if you go to Babeland first, you may end up at Bump. all depends on what you buy and who you use it with.
  • i went to high school with claire cavanaugh, one of the owners. i should stop over there tomorrow

    Look! This rattle vibrates!
  • a camerman and reporter from newschannel 4 were outside the store today around 7.30.

given everything else that's happening in the world these days, im a bit surprised this is newsworthy.
  • Brooklynian.com has a media invite for the media reception tomorrow night, Thursday, June 5. If you want to go as the Brooklynian representative, PM me.
  • watching the stanley cup finals on nbc, and what do i hear during the 10 second news promo?

Sue Simmons: "An erotic toystore that's being welcomed by the neighborhood -- tonight at 11."

No kidding. It's *leading* the news.
  • Ah, but will Sue Simmons do this again?

I just watched it again and am still laughing
  • OK, looks like brooklynpotter and Carmen are going as "Media Representatives" of Brooklynian tomorrow. Guys, if it turns out you can't make it, let me know so we can give the invite to somebody else. Have fun!
  • carmen, where are you? PM me and we can go over there together
  • Have fun, ladies! Represent us well :-)
  • the boyfriend now thinks i'm the best girlfriend ever. i mean, he did before. but now? i'm golden
  • Horray, this should be fun! Brooklyn, I sent you a PM, maybe we can travel in together :)

I thought i saw posted rumors about goodybags for this thing tonight. That would make me a happy girl.

Also, is the event tonight open to the public or just media?

You posted preciously that you would never go in there! I believe "a wig and sunglasses" were mentioned.

But that's the cool thing about chicks, they gets to change their minds!

you are correct, i did say that. however, in my defense, it's one thing to go to an opening night media party--i used to be part of the media so i know the drill--yet another to be in there buying goodies. i'll do the former, but not the latter.

(and you people have far too much to do if you're spending your days reading archives. get out of the house!)
  • Carmen wrote: Also, is the event tonight open to the public or just media?
My understanding is it's just media.
  • What time is this thing at? I live close by so I can go :bounce:
  • pretty sure it's a private party

let me understand: the boyfriend is excited that you're going media whoring?
and if a couple of vibrators slip into your bag, all the better?
  • babeland always hands out free vibes, lube and other toys at their parties. kinda awesome.

do you know anything about media events? before i left the corporate world to become an artist i worked as a journalist for nearly 20 years. going to an event is not whoring. and whoring, frankly, is a vile word.

your personal insults and accusations toward me, in the last few weeks, are so out-of-line i'm surprised you haven't been kicked off the board. we may disagree, but i don't recall saying anything personally insulting toward you.

learn some manners, some civility, and go read the rules of the board in regard to being nice and personal attacks
  • yeah... what she said.
  • Can't wait, just spoke to the lady at Babeland, sounds like a fun time!
