Steve Jobs for Vice President!
I was going to name this topic: "Iphone 2, will it live up to the hype"
Anyone else excited about the SDK and 3G iphone launch at the WWDC on June 9th?
Okay -I'm the only one I see.
I'm looking forward to see how far the bar is being raised by Apple again forcing others to reluctantly clone their products.
People keep mentioning so called dwindling iPhone sales, but inst that a direct result of apple stopping shipments of iPhone and becuase of the consumer anticipation of IPhone 2 pretty much since December 2007...?
What do you think will be announced besides the 3G iphone?
New Macbook upgrades?
Upgrade to .Mac service?
Will you buy an iPhone now that the SDK allows 3rd party software, outlook, GPS, games and 3G?
MOD NOTE: added another poll option

I tried to vote for Bill Gates, but Windows crashed.

Anyway, I recently got the 16gig iphone, so I won't be buying the 3G one anytime soon. However the 3G one should be awesome.
IMHO the iphone won't live up to any unrealistic expectations and hype. However like Apple computers, it will simply be a really well built, well designed and intuitive machine.
My iphone hasnt' changed my life. It's simply a great texting and web browsing tool, plus its my new ipod. -

Not as long as it's only available with AT&T

Good One.
But it seems like that isn't going to last...
Globally, at least, Apple is cutting deals with different tele-comm companies. And I have seen so many hacked phones on the web using different services (mexico, japan, china, UK, germany) besides At&T....
I don't know how they do it, but they are... At the end of the day, the iPhone has a simm card, right?dailyheights wrote:

It's inevitable though. -

no, it doesn't. either way, jailbreaking an iphone isn't that hard.
but I've had cingular/AT&T for years and had no problems whatsoever. -

You sure?
How to remove the iPhone Sim card...

^Hmmm, I detect a little iEnvy...
But the announcement today at WWDC lived up to some of the hype.
it didn't answer all of the issues, but it is a lot closer than anything else out there in aesthetics and interface.
I think the Third party apps with the SDK and the enterprise features put a lot of the initial criticisms to bed. I am really impressed with how many major corps are already using this technology. I always love how they put in little stabs at Windows at these things ( this time making fun of the Windows "task manager").
Good for Apple and good for the rest of us stuck in a world dominated by the inferior OS known as Windows by Microsoft.
One thing apple seems to be better at than so many other companies is giving people what they ask for in products. What a leap from iPhone I to iPhone II - and for $199. I know the basic service now costs $10 more per month though, but it seems apple iPhone users are willing to pay it....I cant imagine buying a Treo or Razr now...I just can't do it. Looks like I am going to have to go for it in July.
With iPhone in the mix:
Future = Bright -
I'm more interested in the new RIM Blackberry's coming out. Bold, Kickstart, Thunder, etc. They all be looking sweet.
-
the new price points for the 3G phone are damn impressive. that might be bigger news than the 3G faster internet.
-
a button fell off my krzr. clearly I need to upgrade. and yes people, at a college reunion this weekend, I had better reception than everyone else with my at&t phone. woot!
Howdy, Stranger!
