jazz brunch at bristen's — Brooklynian

jazz brunch at bristen's

Subject: jazz brunch at bristen's

had another delicious (albeit hot) brunch at bristen's backyard on sunday*

at about noon, this awesome jazz trio showed up and started playing in the back. it was magical! how i wished, in spite of the impressive heat, that i could have stayed all afternoon, drinking iced tea and listening.

carlene says she's going to try to have jazz every weekend; i may soon be a regular.

*eggs benedict was unusual but fantastic with a slice of smoked bacon in place of ham; others at the table were pleased with salmon omelet, cherry french toast, scones, and muffins.

  • Does anyone know of a link to there menu. Menupages doesn't have it.
  • I went on Sunday too, had a great brunch--surprisingly comfortable inside despite no a/c. The trio was playing out front, which brought the mood out onto the street, which people walking by seemed to appreciate. Thumbs up for the yogurt/granola/fruit, and big thumbs up on the chicken and waffles--my wife gave it the "it tastes like my aunt's" vote of confidence, which is high praise for real.
