5th Ave btwn St Marks and Prospect. Been open less than a year. Food is always fantastic and the people there are the best. Phillipe and Marie are wonderful people and chef Olivier is a magician.

Right on, Ringrunner! I DO eat Olive Vine every day. Almost every day. Wow, hungry just thinking about it. I order from them so often that they recognize my voice on the phone and know what I'm going to order. Sometimes they include free tea, 'cause that's just the way O.V. rolls.

For brunch, I like Little D - even their scrambled eggs are unusually yummy. Miracle Grill also has good brunch, but the coffee is atrocious. Oh, and Nono Kitchen. Wow, yum. Holy cow, A-plus to everything I've ever eaten there at any meal.

Blue Ribbon is absolute fav. Also really like Lobo, Geido and Miriam.

Their labana is to die for. I also really dig their assorted salad platter (all the salads I've had have been very fresh and tasty). Their foule is always really nice. If you're into chicken you should consider the dish (blanking on the name right now) with the pastry surrounding chicken, rice, spices, raisins, and general deliciousness. They'll know what you mean if you mention the pastry.

Al Di La for the win, although it makes more sense to get a table at the wine bar. Same food, more room, more chill atmosphere. I've never eaten anything that let me down there.

Otherwise Song is one of the great Thai restaurants in the whole world, I feel, despite being amazingly affordable. We love that place.

I like Al Di La Vino more as well. Same food, better ambiance in my opinion.

i LOVE OV. i order the assorted salad platter, the lentil soup (which comes with a half a lime to squeeze in). i hear the green pizza is to die for. fresh piping hot pitas, too, and the guy who owns the place always tells me i'm beautiful. ONLY thing they don't have is the cucumber/yogurt/mint thing, or if they do i haven't noticed it on the menu. it's one of my favorite slope restaurants hands down.

watana siam thai is great also, on my list of faves.

i've heard the brunch at miriam is great but haven't yet gone. brunch at beast is awesome.

i really like anthonys, good pizza and gnocci.

Oooh, I do like Anthony's too.

I'll definitely make a point to try OV. I can't imagine why I haven't done it sooner.

Whoa, how did I forget the Chocolate Room? For anyone who hasn't been there, it's on 5th Ave almost all the way to Atlantic. Holy smokes, the brownie sundae is inSANE. INSANE!

Snickers I agree with what you said about Blue Ribbon. Once that place is crowded and the music is jacked up the whole atmosphere changes. the food remains gorgeous. Another time to go is late, late.

OMG, you are the FIRST person I know in over 10 years who I have heard of eating at Ranho Allegre. I always wonder how they survive! I've never gone inside in all of this time as it never looked appealing to me. Do tell!
