Lets have a BBQ in a week or two(that rhymes)? — Brooklynian

Lets have a BBQ in a week or two(that rhymes)?

I say it's time CH unite. What better way to do that than with food.I say we pick a spot close by everyone bring something for the grill and we hang out as a community. It will be a good way for people to meet their neighbors. Who's in?

  • Well, brower park would be an obvious choice. I'll bring the veggie dogs.
  • Can we avoid using Brower Park as a possible BBQ site. In doing so, we probably can avert another mugging or shooting thread.

  • Ummm... ok.

While I seriously doubt that people will come and mug and shoot us when there is a CROWD of us (these crimes tend to happen to solitary people and it's not wise to wander off alone in Central Park let alone here), would you be so kind as to suggest another alternative?

Or is everything dangerous to you?

I can make you a new tinfoil hat if your old one is getting rusty.

  • Block parties are fun!!! Which block are you on, btw?

Not that I'd be able to crash. My Magic 8 ball tells me I'm going to be inundated with work.

  • What days might hypothetical BBQs and Block Parties be?

  • Let's shoot for the middle of July. I thought more people would be interested in a neighborhood BBQ. More food and booze for us.

  • Oh yes! I shouldn't be so busy with work then. But then I might have film shoots and/or shows. We'll see.

  • Why not have it on a Saturday in prospect park when a concert is scheduled and make a real day of it.

  • Mmm... that's an idea. But how will we find each other through the crowds?

  • Unfortunately the NYC of Park & Recreation doesn't allow you too BBQ in Brower Park. However, there are a few parks that you are allowed to BBQ in. I think PP is the best option, it's closer (for me anyways).

  • You might want to double check that list because Thompkins Park in BS isn't on there, but I know for a fact that you can get permits from the parks department office located in the park to BBQ there.
