On 12st and PPW. Are you kidding me?

I would have pushed that thing to the repair shop like a skateboard. Cannot believe you blew $200+ bucks on towing a scooter bro.

  • Now see, there is a case for water baloons that just happen to be liberated from a nearby rooftop.

  • A: why do you care if he had it towed, you don't know what was wrong
B: he probably was covered under insurance
C: still cheaper than owning a gas guzzling SUV

  • Triple A is what, like $40/yr and includes free towing? If I A) had a scooter and B) had triple A, and C) had said scooter break down, I would totally D) get a free tow from triple A over pushing my sorry POS over any number of blocks to be repaired.

Or perhaps it belongs to someone with a back injury that is capable of riding short distances, but not a big push-push. Maybe there was an earthquake, a terrible flood. A piece of the brake snapped and lodged in the wheel, preventing it from turning perchance. Maybe there was a lot going on, trips, tickets, an ailing relative far away, and it was just one of those times where $ had to take a back seat to convenience.

    Is it nap time yet?

I mock you with my monkey pants.

Come on now man, that is just insulting. We all know damn well that no one in Park Slope receives any outside money whatsoever from their families for rent or other living expenses. Anyone perpetuating that ugly rumor is simply jealous of the Park Slope lifestyle.

Years ago when my Honda broke down, we just tied some yellow rope around the handlebars, attached it to the back of our car, and gave it a very gentle tug with me steering to the dealer on Coney Island Ave.

Very economical, but of course nowhere near as chic.

  • Wow, what a bunch of whiners! If you want to go push his vespa to a repair place you should have done it instead of whining about other people's business. And AAA doesn't cover motorcycles in NYC FYI, I know, I have it and a motorbike. Maybe not everyone can afford or has any desire to have a gas guzzling SUV so why don't you keep your scooter condescending comments to yourself.

They have various plans and often the phone people have no fucking clue what they are talking about. They won't always honor the 100-mile thingy, but they will generally do a 5-mile motorcycle tow with supervisor approval or whatever. FWIW. You have to yell at them a lot. And there are other companies that do the same sort of thing that don't give that sort of hassle on motorcycles.
