Would putting soy and duck sauce on your rice satisfy the same craving? (Not that it would be any healthier...just more socially acceptable....) Eating rice with ketchup sounds like working around a pizza craving.

I do like soy sauce and vinegar in my rice too, but I'm not sure about it being a pizza substitute, Dr. Raw

When I was younger, I would eat everythig DRY. No butter, sauces, mayo, mustard, nothing (I still hate mayo and mustard....blech).

As evidenced by my chubby belly, I came to love the butter and the sauces :-)

Is you my baby mama? Because I think I've got some of yours. Ranch dressing as a food group. Preferrably Hidden Valley. They refuse to eat pizza without it. I can't stand the stuff. I recall the days of my youth, the overnights spent in Denny's with french fries and ranch, coffee that was more sugar than coffee. And who came up with the idea of pouring coffee and cola together? Not that I dislike it, but hmm.

Onions on ice cream and cereal sounds odd.

I've got one that eats butter sandwiches, and another who prefers ketchup sandwiches.

Hidden Valley Ranch? If they were mine I'd disown them. I like Kraft , and Pfeiffer Ranch. I am the same way about the pizza and ranch......doesn't matter how good that pizza is......I will not eat it if I don't have ranch on the side.

Kraft is their choice #2. I'll have to get them some Pfeiffer.

And, of course, the best mix in with ice cream is gummi bears. Obviously.

And I've got one with a taste for ketchup and cheese sandwiches. If cheese isn't available, plain ketchup sandwiches will suffice.

In the 'hood, from Natural Land. But I often get it from my wife's parents, from K-town or from Queens.

Mr Transplant's father is a huge , huge fan of peanut butter + ketchup sandwiches.

My first poverty-stricken week of grad school, I snuck food from my housemate's supply. I ended up eating "condiment sandwiches": white bread (think one small step above Wonder) spread with a thin layer of mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip - I can't remember which) and drizzled with ketchup. The sad thing is, I kept eating them after I had my own food available. Then again, this was the time period where I also ate a lot of ramen noodles with no liquid and the flavor packets sprinkled over the top. Oh! And I also ate pasta seasoned with nothing but different flavors of Molly McButter. Wow, does that look horridly sad when typed out like this.

Nowadays, my husband doesn't let me eat anything too odd as he does the bulk of the (very healthy and wholesome) cooking. Go figure.

^^ I prepared my grad school ramen the same way! Tossed it in some butter if there was extra $ that week....the Associated on 57th St used to have them 6/$1.

mustard sandwichs are delicious, but the only bread to be used is a hot dog bun. Sunbeam are the best. Great with whiskey or maybe a bloody mary.

Ramen noodles. I like eating them right out of the bag. Like chips. Yum. I used to get them 10/$1 .

Potato hot dog buns (my fav!!) dipped in ketchup. I love it when the bread is soft , so I never eat my bread straight out of the fridge. Any bread that eat has to sit out in room temperature till its soft. I don't like to heat the bread up cuz it gets hard and crusty if you don't eat it fast enough.....and I hate that. :x
