Sex and the City Movie Night

Ok ladies - so the Sex and the City movie comes out this weekend and since I had some terrible luck before the last ladies night out I didn't get a chance to bring it up - so

Anyone up for a SATC movie night?

  • Just got back from seeing it at the Pavillion. Cute, entertaining and a bit long. I do love me some Big (met him in person when I was volunteering once...he was extremely sweet to the woman next to me who totally lost her shit when she saw him)

btw, all of the night shows are already sold out, so plan ahead.

Thanks - I plan on going tomorrow and will definitely purchase tickets ahead a time. Some friends of mine will be coming by for cocktails before the show. I heard there were a lot of twists and turns in the movie.

I hear you about Big - definitely "cream in the jeans" material
  • I'd say purchase WAY ahead of time. I went to the second show, which still had a crowd. I'd imagine on a rainy (as it is supposed to be tomorrow) weekend it will sell out super fast.

PM me when you see it so we don't spoil it for others and we can chat about Big.

When I met him the other chick went nuts saying "You're on my favorite show ever!" during the SATC days and he said "oh, you're into SATC?" and she said "No! L&O". I laughed because I've never seen a single L&O in my life (can't imagine how I've managed this, as most people think it's "my type of show")
  • I PM'd you
  • got it...will write back soon
  • I saw it Friday. It made me and my girlfriend really sad.

    Why?

Just curious. I saw it and thought it was fun. Why did it make you sad?

  • Because the girls mostly look really old. And their "happy endings" seemed wrought with unhappy areas. And I didn't think they focused on the fact that they all still have each other.

i come to this thread a little late but I am suprised you felt there was not enough emphasis on the they did have each other part. That seemed pretty clear to me. My husband was a fan of the show and we saw it together at BAM the weekend it was released. There was a couple sitting in front of us and the guy was teasing the gal about dragging him to see the movie. It just made us both laugh and we talked about it before the film started. The whole audience was just in a good mood. Unless you had followed the show I can't imagine how you would have found yourself seeing the film that first weekend.

Anyway..lite and fluffy and I never need to rent that on netflicks when the dvd is released.
