Why no positive comments about Stone Park?
Just saying - but I'm really tired of the Red Alert Mod Interruptions to insert their ages old thrashing of Stone Park. Give it a rest. Move on. Get a Life.
MOD NOTE: Since Stone Park censored any negative comments about themselves, they will always have an asterisk about any positive comments. They can't force us to delete negative comments (in a totally obnoxious and litigenous way) while benefiting from positive comments here. People have a right to know the history. If you don't like the mod notes, then stop mentioning Stone Park.
That isn't likely to happen any more than your stopping the completely totalitarian take over of threads that mention Stone Park Cafe at 324 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215, (718) 369-0082 which serves one of the all-time great burgers in NYC!

I would say that it would be appropriate to stop inserting the notices when SP agrees to allow comments that are not positive to their restaurant. How many places get this treatment here? The vast majority of places take their lumps with their praise. When SP grows up and can do the same, then I think it would be appropriate to stop treating them like babies. -

Agreed, daver. It's not fair for SP to benefit from positive reviews here while censoring negative ones. If we can't post the negative reviews, it's imperative in the name of intellectual honesty that any positive comment at least be accompanied by a reminder that an alternative point of view exists but that SP is preventing that view from being communicated. -

I don't have time to search the database, but are there no negative reviews of their food or service on these boards? None at all?
If not, I'll post one - My wife and I had the bad luck to get the server with the worst attitude in the world one Sunday brunch. He reacted shittily to a complaint, then ignored us, then screwed up my order. I brought it all to the attention of the co-owner, who apologized profusely, admitted to the problem and comped my meal.
I think all serious complaints about restaurants should be aired with the ownership. I'm not saying not to air complaints in public forums, but if that's the only place it airs, and it's harsh and controversial and contentious and disputed and there has been no direct discourse with the ownership then I wonder what good it ultimately does.
Except to cause really bad feelings all around. -

It lets others know about a bad experience and helps them to weigh whether or not to spend their dollars there?
Why does one NEED to take it up with the ownership? Not everyone is looking for reparations. -

Sorry, but out of deference to dailyheights, I'm locking this (he locked the other discussion in the PS board, and I can only assume that this isn't locked because he hasn't seen this yet).

I think everyone needs to give it a rest. I have no evidence of Stone Park employees or ownership censoring negative comments about themselves on Brooklynian. As the board owner, I would know about this.
Also, I cannot find the source of the RED quotation above; if it appeared on the boards at one time, it has been deleted. Let me know where you got that from.
Finally, if some are taking it upon themselves to delete positive comments on Stone Park: that's inappropriate, I never condoned it, and I would like to know about it. I have no evidence of it, and if people were randomly deleting posts, users would complain. Sounds more like someone came up with an "asterisking policy" for positive comments on Stone Park - which again, would not really be appropriate since there is no evidence of Stone Park employees, management, or ownership saying anything at all on these boards (or private messages, or email discussing these boards).
Unlocking thread, but if there are still unresolved concerns here, I'd prefer if you PM me. Thanks! -
