Good cheap massage? — Brooklynian

Good cheap massage?

I'm not picky, don't have back problems or anything...I just want a cheap, semi-relaxing non-posh massage. I know the going rate for a "cheap" place seems to be $60 an hour, but I would really like to fish for something less than that. Any suggestions? I'm open to anywhere CLEAN!

See I'm sketched out by those places- are they legit? I don't want to end up walking into a happy ending salon or something, plus I feel like the ones I see look like bodegas with massage tables in front...

No, they're legit, they're just bare bones. No private rooms, tables are lined up side by side. Think of it as like the Chinese Wal-Mart of massage.

If you walked into a happy ending place, you'd know it. They would vibe you. But even if they didn't, they wouldn't offer it to you anyway.

Come to think of it- happy endings for girls.....you know, by male masseuse....interesting.... 8-[

  • John Lake is a Shiatsu practitioner in the South Slope who will work on a sliding scale. You may have seen him doing demo massages in front of the PS Fitness Collective at the 7th Heaven festival (when it wasn't pouring).

He can be reached at jlake at sanctuarynyc.com or 646-299-2698

  • some people like that place across the street (park ave.) from gorilla. it's not "cheap" but you can pay for smaller intervals of time.
