Nope, this is from a whole different IP. I'm beginning to think that this has to do with AOL. Let's see what Dave thinks.

Huh...
So we've eliminated that ip address. I'm sure you feel a lot better now.
My next idea is that IP in question might possibly belong to an address that you occasionally post from. Say, a relative or friend's house. Maybe a public place like a cafe with free wireless or whatnot, though I kind of doubt this since the IP is from AOL's block and I've never heard of public access points being run through their services, though I might be mistaken. Though if it was a public access place like a cafe or whatever, I'd think that there would at least be one or two other registered users linked to the address since there's a lot of buggers out there who access this board from laptops at Soda, Heights and other places. -
This post (today) is the only other place I post from (and this post is through AOL). The one last night is the laptop at home (not AOL) and I have never posted from a cafe or anything.

Dave probably knows this, but it's worth saying. Last time I checked AOL has a weird changing IP address thing. Where during a session the IP address of the user can change. We had this problem on our rinky-dink server.

Should I call AOL about this? Would it help?

Don't worry about it for now. -

Hmm, if that's true and different users at times share the same IP addresses, that could be a legal problem. What if I go online and illegally download 800 bijillion mp3s while assigned to AOL ip "a". The next week, I'm changed to AOL ip "b". Meanwhile, the new recipient of "a" has Sony trying to subpoena AOL for their name and I'm being watched by the cops bbecause the previous user of "b" was a 60 year old retired axe murderer that enjoyed hanging out in preteen chat rooms posing as one of the Olsen twins and trying to get a hook-up. AOL likely logs who was on what ip when, but whatever. AOL is the devil. -
I am now posting at the office but not through AOL. Does anything come up now. My internet provider says it might be my router at the office.

Nope...clean -

If an isp assigns a dynamic ip range to a geographic area, it's plausible to see the same ip come up for different people sharing an isp and posting to a community board.
Howdy, Stranger!
