How about not being assholes to your neighbors?

I gotta tell you these two seemed so meek and tepid, literally scared of their own shadow. I believe the incident happened, their approach to me threw me off guard.

    Anyone able to weigh in?
Many people have gushed about Long Tan's greatness but I have yet to be impressed by Long Tan's fried food. when it comes to Thai take out, I order from Rice, Watana, Mango, Beet, Nana, and even Lemongrass Grill before Long Tan. Long Tan does not suck, it just doesn't stand out among other options...oooh Long Tan serves Kangeroo...I'd rather have a peanut butter sandwich....

If you are talking about a previous thread that started when Elementi was opening, I barely remember the "incident" now, but I remember being shocked and disgusted and thinking that Elementi was very unprofessional.

Is Smiling Pizza's pizza at least OK these days or should it be avoided?

  • OK - I know I'm breaking my own definition, but Two Boots is horrible. Out of desperation because of last nights violent weather we ordered from them and it was awful, awful, overcooked and awful. Did I say awful? When will I ever learn??

  • i love the pizza and gnocci from anthony's, did i already say that?

we had amazing mexican at chavella's friday night, but that's on classon/park pl.

clemens is pretty yummy, their burritos are bigger than my head. plus, far better with healthier choices than uncle moes (their fish tacos are made with salmon. wtf?)

purity has really awesome blueberry pancakes.

now i'm getting hungry, and i fear i will break down and get some fried dough zepole thingy at the fair.

  • City Sub rocks...It is way better than la Bagel and any other deli sandwich place in the Slope. Fresh bread, great cheeses, excellent add-ons, great service from the perpetually moving employees...it's worth the wait.

  • I may be in the minority, but I ate at Elementi when they first opened and I liked them. Food was good and the service was good.
Now before everyone jumps down my throat, I've lived in the Slope for over 30 years and yes, I was sorry to see Snooky's close only because it was an institution here (just like Danny's Candy Store & Al's Toy Store). I have not eaten there in years....I didn't like their bar area (thought it was a meat market); the food in the restaurant was average (they could never figure out how to make a burger that was cooked); and their mixed drinks were not very good.
And before everyone says what how bad the Elementi folks are, the owners of Snooky's sold out for a lot of money. If you all owned Snooky's you might have done the same.

That isn't what the problem with Elementi is. FWIW.

  • I like Sotto Voce for brunch. $12 for unlimited mimosas and bloody marys + a pretty decent brunch menu!

I'd have to agree with Blue Ribbon for being overrated. Although, the bone marrow dish with the oxtail ragu is kinda tasty, everything else didnt impress me.

  • I have to defend Bonnie's. That place has a delicious burger. I don't know what you guys consider good in a burger if it's not Bonnie's. Seriously. Tell me.

Wings are also great there, as is their chili. Friendly vibe, quick. What else do you really want in a burger?
