New Acupuncture place — Brooklynian

New Acupuncture place

Has anyone tried the Brooklyn Acupuncture Project? They say that they are in South Park Slope, but I'm pretty sure that it's Gowanus. I went there today for the first time. It's a beautiful place, the Acupuncturist was very professional and the cost was reasonable.

  • What are their rates? Where are they? Do they prescribe herbs?

They are on 3rd Avenue between 12th and 13th. Their rates are a sliding scale between $10.00 and $45.00. 718-360-0123

I don't think that they prescribe herbs. Do you know of any good herbalists in the area?

Spring Thyme is the best place I have found for acupuncture and herbs in the neighborhood. And my acupuncturist there is covered by my insurance, just as an added bonus.

One in the Slope and one in the Heights. The slope on is 7th Ave & Carroll, and the Heights on is on Montegue. One in manhattan, too.

I believe the acupuncturists - all TCM docs - travel between the 3 locations.

I go to the Heights one for herbs and acupuncture and it is terrific. You need an appointment.

  • Subject: BAP does herbs

BAP does prescribe herbs as well as doing acupunture. I've had great results with them so far. And how can you beat the prices - I can get three treatments for what I used to pay for just one!
  • Oh, and they're (Brooklyn Acupucture Project) having an Open House on July 13th (from 12-3). You can get free ear acupuncture (great if you've never tried it before). I've been to one, there's good food and a lot of people come to check it out. Robbie and Sarah, the acu's are very nice and knowledgeable. They're number's (718) 369-0123.
