  • And incidentally, after all the outrage and right wing blustering about Michelle Obama saying that for the first time in her life, she was proud of her country....

Now John McCain says it's "tough" to be proud of America!

    That is pretty damn funny.

And as distasteful as it is to mock someone for their addictions, good pic!

Here are a couple more, in equally poor taste.

  • Ha! Again, I'm seeing Steve Martin in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" in that McCain pic hugging the beer. All he needs is a cork on his fork :-)

  • Ha, Cindy McCain does it, AGAIN...
Here we go again. Just two months after we broke Recipegate comes news that Cindy McCain is up to her old tricks. The July 2008 issue of Family Circle featured an article in which each (it went to press before Hillary conceded) of the presidential candidates' significant others submitted a cookie recipe. A tipster caught a whiff of something besides sugar after reviewing Cindy McCain's Oatmeal-Butterscotch cookies, and quickly found the original recipe at Hersheys.com

Well, if you're going to steal the drugs, might as well steal credit for the munchies, too...

  • Waa, the republicans are picking on Michelle. Well, it was Dim strategist Bob Beckel who started the whitey rumor. Yeah, it's a stretch Michelle would use the term Whitey.

At least Cindy is proud of her country unlike Michelle and Fauxbama. At least Cindy McCain didn't sit in a racist Anti-American church for 20 years.

Now they're racing to give Michelle a make-over on People magazine. I guess the angry wife isn't working for them.

You seem to have a reading comprehension problem. Unless you think Cindy's stance is more important than her husband's...

  • Well, even John Kerry admitted he got some cheddar from Teresa.

Oh, please, she was probably just too stoned to realize what country she was in.

Yes, she had a drug addiction. And yes, that is a bad thing. There never would have even _been_ an American Voluntary Medical Team without Cindy McCain though, and that organization did a LOT of good. Like a serious serious lot. That doesn't make the drug thing OK, but she never compromised the mission of the organization. She got professional treatment for her drug addiction. She adopted orphaned children along the way, providing them with amazing opportunities, and became a stay at home mom to take care of them growing up. She and her organization were in countries that the US couldn't even get relations up with yet helping people in disasters and wars. I'm not saying that she is Mother Teresa, although one of the orphaned children she adopted was one of the ones she brought to the US from the Mother Teresa Orphanage in Bangladesh after the devastating cyclone there. But I am saying that to reduce her 50+ trips of at least two weeks each to these places in order to provide needed medical care to a statement of "Oh, please, she was probably just too stoned to realize what country she was in" is pretty fucked up. She is not a perfect person, but she has _personally_ done fucktons more good in this world than easily 99% of people out there. Which doesn't mean I'm voting McCain, but I find your statement offensive. As I also find _many_ statements about Michelle Obama, FWIW.

Unless you was kidding, in which case, er, haha! There is a fine line between satire and nastiness sometimes, I think.

Yes, but you have to admit that the number does come out less (* .907) after converting to
    metric fucktons.

"My car gets forty rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!"

Damn outside world. Encroaching on our units.

I was kidding. I just was tailoring my satire to the nastiness of the person to whom I was speaking, is all (frankly, I think someone responding to a complaint that "that's offensive" with, in essence, "oh, boo hoo, stop whining" is being nasty themselves).

I agree it's nasty. I also think the person to whom I'm speaking is being nasty. Since nastiness seems to be the only way she's capable of speaking, I'll speak her language.
