Where is this bbq/picnic supposed to be?
Maybe this bbq thing should be open to all Brooklynians. What do you guys think of just having it in Prospect Park?
We need to start planning , people.
1. BBQ grill - who has one that they are willing to haul down there?
2. Food - Who's bringing what?
3. Spot in the park - Who's gonna get there early to get a good spot.
4. What time does this thing start?
5. Will we be playing sports? touch football ?? frisbee?? kick the ball and run after it?? hide and seek? I spy? tag?
6. Who the hell is cooking??I think PP will do just fine
1. I have a Weber grill that I am willing to haul down there.
2.I am a meat eater so I will bring a selection(hotdogs,burgers,etc.)
3.I will probably have to be there to set up.
4.Anytime is good for me but I would say noon?
5.Everyone should just bring what they like to play.
6.I am a grillmaster.I will man my grill and any other that may be there.
Someone should probably bring a grill for the vegetarians. And also a fold-up table would be nice just in case.

Unfortunately the NYC of Park & Recreation doesn't allow you too BBQ in Brower Park. However, there are a few parks that you are allowed to BBQ in. I think PP is the best option, it's closer (for me anyways).

Maybe we can get together a rough list of stuff that's needed and people can fill in those spots, as well as volunteer other things. I'll start off with a sample list:
Grill
Charcoal
Burgers
Veggie Burgers
Hot Dogs
Burger Buns
Hot Dog Buns
Soda
Beer*
Wine*
Cups
Plates
Napkins
Plasticware
Cooler
Potato Salad
Salad
Frisbee
Mustard
Ketchup/Catsup
Mayonnaise
Relish
Trash Bags
Paper towels
Cooking utensils
How's that for a list so far? Too much?
*What's the story with booze at the park? I know at my college when we BBQ'd at the local park we always just kept it in plastic cups and never got harassed. Also, I know somewhere in Park Slope you can buy Juice Boxed wine. -

Grill
Cooking Utensils
Trash bags
Cups
Plates
Napkins
As for the rest of the items I plan on bringing meats and pears(they are really good on the grill) condiments shouldn't be a problem. I am worried about the vegans/vegetarians. Does anyone know where to get the cheese that can be grilled?
Red White & Bubbly LLC - www.redwhiteandbubbly.com in Park Slope has it. And Trader Joe's in Manhattan is famous for its Charles Shaw box of wine aka "Two Buck Chuck" (though I don't think it's $2 anymore). -
Anyone still want to do the BBQ?
-
shit yeah!
