  • why is this not shocking?

and really, we taught latin america how to use death squads effectively - we're fan-fucking-tastic at torture. I'm so not proud of this country when this kind of shit is being discussed.
  • Bush is now trying to pardon himself for war crimes.

  • wow
CNN is doing a pretty good job with this story. Thx for posting these clips, Carn

The guy that prosecuted Charles Manson in California (and wrote about it in HelterSkelter) is campaigning for Bush to be prosecuted for murder.

  • thanks for all of these posts. these assholes are acting like argentina. not cute.
  • Piling on how shocking and disgraceful the Cheney/Bush/Rove/Gonzalez/Feith/Wolfowitz school of torture is, is the complete incompetence at perpetrating these crimes against humanity.

Did the war criminals in the White House send experienced interrogators to Guantanamo? No.

Did they judiciously use torture vs traditional interrogation techniques based on the prisoner and the evidence they had useful urgent information? No.

Did they rely on successful (non-violent) interrogation tactics going all the way back to WWII or as recently as the war in Afghanistan? No.

You know at times during the past 8 years I would read about things Cheney/Bush/Rove/Gonzalez/Feith/Wolfowitz were doing in my name and as ugly as they were I could think myself, 'well, in a horribly delusional way these criminals think they're actually protecting me'. But when it comes to torture at Guantanamo, Bagram, Abu Ghraib, etc, I can't even think that.

It honestly seems like goal of Cheney/Bush/Rove/Gonzalez/Feith/Wolfowitz in this case was simple sadistic torture, rather than some f*cked up concept of national security.

As with almost everything else from the past 8 years, the rank incompetence is mind blowing.
