Looking for a primary care doc in the neighborhood...
Hello again. Here is the next in my ongoing series of moving-to-the-neighborhood questions that you all have been so kind in answering.
Can any of you recommend a primary care doctor in the neighborhood? By "in the neighborhood," I mean really anywhere within a reasonable radius of PH -- Park Slope is fine, Fort Greene/Clinton Hill area is fine, really anywhere but Manhattan or Williamsburg is great.
Thanks!

I just found one that I really really like:
Dr. Clark Lopez
Brooklyn Family Medical Care
60 Plaza St. East
Brooklyn, NY 11238
718-783-3919
They have evening hours up until like 7 or 8pm, too, which is highly convenient if you work during the day.
I've not seen Dr. Lopez, only his partner whose name I can't recall at the moment. But everyone there is really nice and they really seem to care about all aspects of your well-being. After going to a teaching clinic for Beth-Israel for several years and getting overworked student doctors who didn't treat my allergies like they were the WORST ALLERGIES EVER, Brooklyn Family Medical Care is a breath of fresh air. Literally. -
Subject: Thank you, Susan!
I will give them a call. Thank you! -
Is Dr. Lopez boarded in Internal Medicine or Family Practice?
A family practitioner is totally fine for a healthy person getting checkups and basic screening tests, but if there's anything really wrong with you (other than the occasional sniffle and such), you're better off with an internist. Seriously. -
Looks like he is Board Certified in Family Practice.

Subject: Dr. Lopez practice
I had an unpleasant experience. I had an appointment and had to wait about an 2 hours. I saw Dr Lopez's associate. He scared me out of my wits and a subsequent trip to my ob/gyn gave me a much better exam and more accurate diagnosis. It is a crowded, high volume practice and I would not go back.
Howdy, Stranger!
