Romantic Date Ideas in Brooklyn...

I gotta say, there isn't much that beats a picnic in the Park. Not the most unique plan in the world, but it's awesome every time. I'm also a fan of strolls down 8th Ave in the evening... way less traffic and people than 7th and the scenery is pretty killer.

Can't beat the views from the Brooklyn Bridge at night
-
hmmm... both great ideas...
I definitely need to find something to do at night... maybe a picnic on a friends porch at night... than a stroll down 8th or to the bridge...
thanks! -
Jaha, is this a daytime/weekend date or a night date? What kind of things are you/him into? Might help us come up with more ideas.

bike riding is always good. brooklyn is great for bike riding!
from aaron cometbus:
what happened to us? we used to be this close. we used to try to kiss while riding bikes. we used to crash, and you would slide across the pavement on your face. i landed on my hands, even worse. without hands, i am nothing. and yet, without a face, you were still wonderful. i remember, i couldn't play pinball for a month. you looked like the elephant man. even then we had different worries. i could never truly understand you.
once i passed a piece of birthday cake to the driver of a moving car alongside mine on the way to memphis. another time, i was handed a full beer, and another time, some very personal polaroids. none of it was as good as kissing you before we crashed. -
It may only appeal if you're of a particular kind of character (i.e., you like kitschy, acting-like-a-teenager-again things), but there's always riding the rides at Coney Island followed by a stroll down the boardwalk away from the big crowds...

Sorry for the delay in responding... i lost this thread somehow...
weekend dates.... day or night...
we love music/ eating/ museums/ something active or even relaxing...
we are both pretty open to everything...
i actually was curious to find a pottery class or something where we could learn to make soemthing together... hahaha maybe a sushi making class like in SATC? -
How about a figure drawing class at Mad Arts?
Met in the park with a picnic and wine? -
well there's paint your own pottery at our name is mud on smith street but lots of kids go there so not very romantic. i think the place called Jill's on Court Street has some special classes and sushi-making might be one of them.
i know lots of people are repping prospect park, but how about some love for Green-Wood? in my estimation it's more beautiful and certainly quieter. they used to have movies on summer weekends, maybe they still do. -
Not sure where to go for this, but wine tasting is always fun and it's great with friends or as a couple.
Dinner and a walk on the Brooklyn Heights promenade is romantic. -
You didnt ask about eats, but Garden Cafe on Vanderbilt/Park is very romantic. Not cheap, but not super expensive.
Or beforehand, watching the dancing fountains in front of Bkn Museum.

WRT to the wine tasting suggested by Mamacita, it's not Brooklyn, but South Street Seaport hosts sunset sails/wine tasting on their restored antique schooner from 7-9pm a few times a month. It's kind of pricey ($55/person), but nice for a special date or celebration.
