Ice Cream Sundae?

it's in PH, but the new place on underhill and sterling is delicious and very kid friendly (shares space with a space that has daycare and art-y classes for kids). it's a nice spot, and there's a playground a block away.
-
It's called Blue Marble, and I would agree that it's a great spot. On those warm days the strollers line up around the block, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait if it so happens to be a warm weekend day you choose to celebrate on. Congrats!

This is going to sound weird, but Juniors has the best hot fudge sundaes. I dropped in there the other day and was reminded of that fact when a bunch of 12 year olds were having them for desert.

I used to love Junior's sundaes when I was a kid, but I haven't had one there in at least 20 years. -
I second Blue Marble. Was going to suggest the sundae at Oko but, really, it's the last day of school. Give the kid some extra calories...
-
Blue Marble has 2 locations as well, so depending on where you are it might be closer to go to the one at Atlantic between Bond & Nevins. Their ice cream is delicious!
-
Stopped by Blue Marble on Sunday, right before the rain. Had myself a Hazelnut Crunch scoop in a cone. OMG! Yummy!!
-
I also agree with blue marble, but if you really want to give the kid a treat, take them to The Chocolate Room and get the brownie sundae, incredible!
-
has anyone tried putting balsamic vinegar on anything at Blue Marble? it's on the menu as a topping.
i have to admit i tried it at home with some strawberry gelato once, and it wasn't half bad as long as you don't put too much on it. the tastes gel in an unexpected way.
the "culture" flavor with some raw honey is the way to go at Blue Marble, btw... -

+1 on this -
Yes, if the 7yo likes chocolate, I definitely vote for the Chocolate Room... however, those things are huge, so sharing might be the way to go!

I want to try this balsamic deal...

wait, why has no one mentioned the brooklyn ice cream factory? it has the universe's best ice cream. down by the riverfront cafe in dumbo/brooklyn heights. SOOOOOOO so so so so so so good, it's totally insanely good. far beyond ice cream previously known to mankind.
-
I found the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory ice cream to be good, but not THAT good (not the universe's best), and certainly not worth the almost hour long wait you experience there during the summer.
It also isn't exactly in park slope. -
Thanks to everybody for their suggestions, I think we're going to have to try out Blue Marble or The Chocolate Room for the Brownie Sundae. I'll update the thread later this week and let you all know how it went.
Thanks again. -
Uncle Louie G's ice cream always tastes wonderful to me, but no idea on Sundae's though I expect it to be good and they don't have a real seating area...
The chocolate room option sounds good right now to me, maybe that will be my dinner tonight
-
For the balsamic topping, reduce it in a pan until it turns into more of a syrup. Yuuuuuuuuuum!
-
I agree that the Brooklyn Ice Cream factory is freaking awesome, but as bergenites pointed out, it's not in PS and also I don't know if they do sundaes.
Howdy, Stranger!
