loud, annoying bepping noise on 16th st

For the past several months there has been a loud, annoying beeping noise on 16th street, between 7th and 8th. It sounds like a little ping, is high pitched and happens at 1 minute intervals. (I timed it!) I have walked outside and I know it is not a smoke detector battery or some sort; you can hear it for half of the block. We do have two new big condo buildings on this block, could it be coming from there? Any ideas? Please help! It's driving me mad!

I live on 15 b/t 6th & 7th and can hear it as well. Thought I was going nuts. If you ever figure out what it is, please let me know... I lay in bed at night and grit my teeth.

have you called 311? they might be able to help.

Yes, I have called 311. They took my name, number, etc.... For the person on 15th street who can also hear it, you should call too. Perhaps if they get a critical mass, it will be investigated. It is most irritating.
