pools in the area?

I believe the Park Slope Sports club is putting in a pool in the near future. There's been talk as to what size and it's bounced back and forth from a full sized pool to one of those teeny ones where you swim against a current.
Also, doesn't the gym on Eastern Pkway have a pool? -

I heard the pool at the Berkley Carrol School is open to the public. Does anyone know if that is true? -
There is a large and clean swimming pool on St Johns Pl in Crown Heights. The parks dept runs it. It costs about $20 per year to use it.

it is. You need to buy a "swim card". It entitles you to 20 visits for $200. Hours are limited, but the pool is nice. Four lanes, 25 yards, rarely crowded. -
The YWCA on Atlantic Avenue and 3rd Avenue closed it's pool this summer.

The new apartment building at Court Street and Atlantic Ave is where the Dodge YMCA is. Nice brand new pool.

The pool is actually on Prospect Place near Troy Avenue. It is called the St Johns Recreational Center. I use to ride my bike there every Saturday morning.

It costs $75 to join the City Parks and Rec for a year, and you can use any of their facilities (all over the city).
I'm going to join and start swimming at this pool on Park Place-- I checked it out and couldn't believe how nice it is, far nicer than many more expensive pools I've swam in.
