i recently signed up to donate to the Working Families Party and receive the newsletter. I was aware of them mainly because of Tish James and her opposition to Rattner. However, the party also endorsed Markowitz, ne even ran on their ballot line, and I don't see any oppostion to the project t their web site.

generally, i agree with the party platform, and i always support thrid parties, but have they offered any justification for remaining on the fence over Rattner? even leaning pro (given their Markowitz endorsement), particularly given that their most visable candidate (Tish James) is the most outspoken elected official opposed to the project.

    any thoughts?
Paul, the short answer is that the power behind WFP is ACORN and the unions. Both ACORN and the unions support the project whoeheartedly. The WFP's star elected offcial is Tish. So, they must have decided to sit on the fence about the Ratner plan (though their silence about it is tantamount to support)
  • thanks Dan. i guess that's what I thought, I'd just hoped they'd offered a more nuanced positiona at some point. but, given their total lack of even mentioning it at their site, i should have assumed they were dodging the issue.

guess i'll have to cancel my check.
