Celeb sightings in P. Heights?
Anyone wanna share some P. Heights celeb sightings? I know I'm opening myself up to ridicule, but this can be fun.
I'll share a few: my roommate saw Taye Diggs at The Beast on Vanderbuilt a few months ago, and a friend has seen Foxy Brown in the record store on Prospect Place/Flatbush Ave several times.
Anyone else?

No, but my college roommate's mom was Taye Diggs's teacher way back in the day. His real name is Scott. ("Scot-tay!")
Sorry. Just have to share that when his name comes up :P -

Yes, I read that in an interview once. He is adorable. But, married. -
Foxy Brown grew up on St Marks Avenue across the street where I use to live. Here mother still live on the block and foxy spend 80 percent of her time in the neighborhood.
-
I've seen Claire Danes a couple of times over here...perhaps she has a friend that lives in the area.
-
Tony Yayo was spotted near Sepia the Saturday before last.
-
Whoah -- Foxy used to bag groceries at the Met?
-
Yeah, I read that about Tony Yayo too (gawker?). Too bad I wouldn't recognize him if he bitch slapped me on the sidewalk.

To be honest, there are few people I would. I'm pretty darn unobservant. -
I've seen Foxy all along Flatbush countless times, and she is 100 times more beautiful in person than in any video or promo picture. She is a striking woman.
I believe Northern State (retro rap group) is still in the neighborhood as well.
My wife claims she saw Wyclef going into Christie's for a patty once.
the other side of Flatbush is a different story.... -

you're kidding. i've only recently managed to kick my lingering claire danes obsession left over from my so-called life days... (and only with the help of my filipino best friend angry at her comments re manila when she was filming brokedown palace, and the fact that claire is a home wrecker) -

Wyclef goes to Kombit Restaurant on Flatbush Ave all the time. I heard that restaurant is one of his favorite places in Brooklyn.

I also spotted one of Michael Jackson's brother and his father there last Sunday. -

it's now clear that when I'm not on DH, I'm reading gawker and pink. -
This is so lame!
You should venture on over to Park Slope where you might bump into Paul Bettany or Jennifer Connelly at the playground, John Turturro at La Bagel Delight, or Steve Buscemi hanging out with his old firefighter buddies.
Once again, Park Slope kicks some PH arse! -

I rode bike with Bettany one time in the park. I didn't know who he was until another guy told me. I took him as random British guy who lives in Park Slope because it is fuckoff cheaper than London. Tall. Thin. English.

Are those girls really celebs? If so, I've had my touch of greatness; I used to chill with DJ Sprout in Elementary School.

I'm assuming that was a reference to Pink Is the New Blog:

I haven't seen any celebrities in PH, but I did spot Rob Corddry from The Daily Show at Atlantic Antic. -
Subject: Philip Seymour Hoffman
About a year and a half ago, I was out in front of my old building on St. John's btw. Underhill and Washington, trying to cultivate the sorry patch of dirt in front of my building into a garden. While stopping to take a breather, I stood leaning on my shovel and wiping the sweat from my brow - who should walk up the street with his girlfriend and kid, but Philip Seymour Hoffman (I think they were at the Brooklyn Museum for the grand re-opening). We caught each other's eye, and he gave me this exhausted look like, "Please don't say anything." Then he loaded the fam into their Mercedes station wagon (parked in front of my building) and drove off. -

I saw Foxy Brown today getting into a Blue Lexus...also saw one of the gals from the Dixie Chics. She has one of those dogs with dreadlocks and he was with here. Plenty of rapper hanging 'round here too...Also, if any cares, the famous biographer Anthony Summers was sighted today as well...I'm holed up at a hotel in the 90210. -

Where? Together? Surely not together. That would be one hella weird pairing. -
Not a prospect heights run in, but pretty funny story: one of my friends got into a fender bender with Vincent Schiavelli, the really creepy looking guy who played the ghost on the subway ("get off my train!") in ghost. Apparently Mr. Schiavelli, after getting into a minor car accident, was in no way interested in yelling "Get off my train," no matter how many times my starstruck and at-fault friend asked him.

OMG
I love that guy! -
Northern State are on a major label now, so I guess that would make them quasi-celebs. They also used to go to PSSC and used to hand out flyers for shows there.
Did they live right on Flatbush? I believe the management listing or whatever on their EP was on Flatbush right about where Heights Coffee is. anyone have a clue? hell, are any of you three on this site?!?!
as for the Park Slope sightings, someone once told me they saw Jennifer Connely breast-feeding at Tea Lounge. i guess you really can't top that one now, can you?
i do, however, see more people at my new job on the LES than anywhere else. -

I met Kumar Pallana from those Wes Anderson movies at Soda. He's friends with the Quigs. We shared good conversation... and french fries. Good times.
