seeing the fireworks either from the roof or the BH Promenade.

    I am a'scared of the 4th. Not professional fireworks, but jerks on the street with dynamite. I get so wound up and nervous all night that I don't have any fun, so I stay home. I can see the park fireworks from my windows, so I'm cool with that.

    Oh, and BBQ one day fo' sure

    Does anyone know of a low-key, not super packed place to watch the fireworks? Last year we watched from a friend's house party but this year I'd like to just catch a glimpse then scoot back home without having to be social or go too far.

    Saturday is my uncle's 60th out on LI- I get to see some family that I do not enjoy, but I will see plenty that I LOOOOVEE!
    AND he has a pool....AND a full, professional bar, with pool table in the basement...AND he insists on no presents. I wuv him!

    That's what Jersey is for.
    You can't buy them in NY or NJ. You can in PA, there are stores right across the border. But for chrissakes be fucking CAREFUL! I don't know if they are being like last year, but I wouldn't be surprised. Last year they set up undercover at the border stores in PA, and called in NY license plates. Marked cars pulled them over as soon as they crossed back into NY, and searched the cars. If they find fireworks, they will TAKE YOUR CAR. No shit.

    There are ways, of course... Muhahahaha.

    Pretty much everything is illegal, including the little guys. This isn't legal advice, but I will say that I doubt you'll get into trouble with the little ones. I heard you can find them in chinatown, FWIW.
    For law-abiding citizens who'd like to end the day with a bang, "snaps," (those pellets that pop when you toss them to the ground), and "paper caps," (like the ones used in toy guns), are legally permissible.

    Definitely Chinatown. I saw fireworks on sale there yesterday. ALL the way to Chinatown? Girl you can be there quick quick. By yourself? Yes, by yourself. Why not?

    (not that I am encouraging more people to buy fireworks....)

    Walk the streets and wonder where the hell the subway stairs went.#-o

    My sis , nephew, and bf are coming on the 18th. It's official their tickets have been bought!! I'm so siked. They want to go to Chinatown. My lil' nephew loves firecrackers so I hope they still have some at that time.Now when I get lost I'll have company.
