Suggest movies for me to download....
I'm moving and won't have cable for an undetermined amount of time...suggest some movies for me to compile to keep me occupied! I'll watch damn near anything except really scary horror stuff, and I'm not a huge fan of really sappy chick-flicks. Indie films a plus...and chances are I haven't seen anything you suggest- the last movie I saw in theaters was 300.

Suggest movies for you to download i.e. pirate?
No thanks. I like my freedom. -
Shaun Of The Dead
Hot Fuzz
(Yes, I'm a Simon Pegg fan - why do you ask?
) -

Wow, nice assumption there, not that it is any of your business. FYI, there have been plenty of legal movie download sites for YEARS. Why not make that assumption instead?
No thanks. I like my freedom.
Download != Pirate
I checked The Rose Tattoo out of the library (legally, I have a library card, which I used my real address to obtain
) and watched it last night, it was a nice oldie.
Oh yeah, the library has legal downloads of full movies too, I've gotten more than a few that way. -

Pirating isn't the only form of downloading, fwiw. I think you can stream or download movies from your Netflix account or itunes on your comp or apple tv.
No thanks. I like my freedom. -

If you have Netflix, I suggest:
I Like Killing Flies
Streetfight
both documentaries (not sure what you're into)
there's also some good Dave Chapelle stuff on there (of course now I'll be saying "I'm Rick James, bitch" to myself all day) -
What are your top 5 favorite films? Makes it easier to make suggestions.

I just ordered that $100 box for Netflix right to your tv. As if I needed another reason not to leave the house ;-)

i'm lazy, i copy and pasted from my facebook profile
.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amélie, 10 Things I Hate About You, Finding Neverland, Stardust, Sliding Doors, Benny & Joon, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Down With Love, Strange Days, Kung Fu Hustle, Serenity, The Sixth Sense, Inner Senses, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds, Red Sorghum, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Grave of the Fireflies, Garden State, Saved, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, The Wizard of Oz, Better Luck Tomorrow, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dogma, American History X, Falling Down, Boondock Saints, v for vendetta, elizabeth town, A Very Long Engagement, Equilibrium. -
Jesus. That's a lot of bad movies.

Eh. I don't see a lot of movies, but of the ones I have seen on that list, I'm particularly fond of several:
Kung Fu Hustle
The Sixth Sense
The Wizard of Oz
American History X
Falling Down
And I was at least amused by:
Dogma
10 Things I Hate About You
Benny & Joon
Serenity
On a mostly unrelated note, is there fucking ANYTHING that you like or are NOT pissy about? GodDAMN, man.
Adding to the list, a few other movies that Armchair's list reminded me of:
Reservoir Dogs
Run Lola Run
Shallow Grave (not horror)
A couple favorites completely unrelated:
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Princess Bride
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (camp classic)
Edward Scissorhands
Nightmare Before Christmas -
The list starts out strong with ESOTSM but doesn't go very far from there. Lock Stock is an ugly looking film but has a great language so I'll give you that one, I'm a fan. Strange Days is pretty cool. The first Matrix, seminal. And of course The Wizard of Oz.
Then you get to movies that are mostly just made up of decent sections. Harold and Kumar has some chuckles for a stoner flick, furburgers and all. Garden State has a pretty good drug scene but is mostly just full of shit. Kung Fu Hustle is funny and then gets tired.
When the list moves away from the on the nose selections, it goes to stuff like Serenity and Equilibrium which are just utter garbage.
The last Matrix? Disaster. Kevin Smith is for teenagers. Any movie made by Shammalammadingdong is too awful for words.
Also: I mean V for Vendetta is a decent flick only made watchable by lowered expectations. But on someone's list of their favorite/best films? Come on. -
Liquid Sky [1982]

1. Running With Scissors - It's a black comedy. Dysfunctional family. Funny funny! I loved it.
2. Cello - It's a foreign horror film. It's not gonna give you nightmares , but it was creepy. It has subtitles.
3. Night at the Museum - I love Ben Stiller. This movie was funny.
4. Wedding Crashers - Hilarious!!!!!! Vince Vaughn....hey baby, what's up?
5. Welcome to the Dollhouse - Funny!
6. Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price - Good documentary on those bastards.
7. Home for the Holidays- I liked this one. It was funny.
8. The Messengers - Good movie. Scary , and still you should be sleeping fine.
1. "But I'm a Cheerleader"
2. "Whole New Thing"
3. " A Tale Of Two Sisters"
I got the first one today and the next two should be in my mailbox tomorrow and Thursday.
I'm gonna watch that one tonight and will be back to let ya know if it was good or not. -

Ah, the old "If I don't like it then it's just utter garbage" attitude. My ex was like that, it's one of the reasons he's my ex. Can't possibly be that each person is unique and likes different things, right? I'm going to ask you what I should have asked my ex. Why do you think that your opinion is the only valid one?
May I suggest adding 2 or 3 words to your statements above? "I think" or "In my opinion" would go a long way towards making you appear less "pissy". -

I thought he/she was just kidding around when he wrote that.
I was laughing when I saw his/her reply.
I looked at it like Armchair named a bunch of movies and when Old Time Brooklyn saw the massive list he/she just in a kinda biblical joking way said, "yeah dude that whole paragraph of movies you wrote down suck". Because for real they are not all bad movies. American History X ,The Sixth Sense,Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Saved ,and The Wizard of Oz......Those are good for sure. -

That is pretty classic. In line with that, I would suggest The Three Amigos.
I watched Joyeux Noël last night, I got it from the library on the recommendation of a friend. That was a pretty fucking awesome movie. -
im getting some good ideas here, keep em coming

Why would I waste my time saying "I think" or "IMHO"? Obviously it's my opinion. I'm writing it. That's so lame and PC.

And I don't think my opinion is the only valid one. It's just the only one I have. -

Crank
Fists in the Pocket
