Context from 1997:WALLACE: (Voiceover) People who know McCain well say he can hold a grudge. He also has a legendary temper. But if McCain can be hard on his friends and even harder on his enemies, he can also be very hard on himself.
Little more conext from fawning Hannity, March 2008:
Sen. McCAIN: I m--made serious, serious mistakes and did things wrong when I was in prison, OK?
WALLACE: What did you do wrong in prison?
Sen. McCAIN: I wrote a confession. I was guilty of war crimes against the Vietnamese people. I intentionally bombed women and children.
WALLACE: And you did it because you were being tortured...
Sen. McCAIN: I...
WALLACE: ...and you'd reached the end of the line.
Sen. McCAIN: Yes. But I should have gone further. I should have--I--I never believed that I would--that I would break, and I did.HANNITY: I agree. I think in light of the anniversary, though, this is a day for you, and also for the country. And I think it gives you an opportunity to tell a story that maybe some people don't know about you.
I'll never forget one of the first times I interviewed, and I was talking — maybe it was when your book first came out — and you had actually said — because you signed statements that you confessed to be a war criminal. And you said to me — and we had gone through all the torture you had been through, all the beatings, all the broken bones, the five and a half years. You didn't take the opportunity to get out when they gave you the opportunity. And you said, "I failed myself, my fellow prisoners, and my family, and my country."
How could you possibly be that hard on yourself?
MCCAIN: I think that I thought that I was unbreakable. You know? I was — I was a pilot, a Navy pilot, carrier pilot. And I thought that I would never show those traits.
But I also want to point out, leaders like Colonel Bud Day and Jim Stockdale and Robbie Reisner and Bill Lawrence and so many others, they said, look, you failed, go back at it again. All of us are human. Go back and do better the next time.
And that's the way their leadership inspired us. They knew that we might fail, but they wanted us to go back into the fight.
HANNITY: But you'd have broken arms, and they'd hang you from your arms for hours.
I mean, look, I know Sean Hannity, I'd tell them whatever they wanted to hear. And I think most Americans would.
MCCAIN: Sean, you say that. You say that, but it's not true. It's not true.
You love your country. You know what's right. They are the enemy.
HANNITY: Even when you're tortured, huh?
MCCAIN: I can't tell you — but I can't tell you — I could never do it. Look, I'm just a human being.
HANNITY: Yes.
MCCAIN: But we're inspired by our leaders. We're inspired by our love of our country. And people who love their country would do the same or better than I did. -

Flashback to 2007, when CNN was still confused as to who was who (Wolf did issue an apology...)

I would also like to state that it was recently pointed out to me that "Barak Hussein Obama" is an anagram for "A MARIHUANAS KEBOBS." Illuminati? Drug financing? Where do all his dollars come from? Hmm. Makes one think.
Oh yeah, in researching the Straight Pride Parade, I came across another Obama issue. It is posted on TCOOO's myspace page:"A war dem a push
Yes, these are the fine folks apparently bringing us the Brooklyn Straight Pride Parade...
From the little street thug to the devil's son George Bush" – Bookman
I have always been convinced that George Bush is from the lineage of the devil. Now I knew it was all over the media that Obama was related to Cheney, in fact Obama referred to the dick as the Black sheep of the family. However, I must have been sleeping or on vacation when the media reported that Obama was also related to George Bush because I surely missed that one
Anyway, I was sent a video recently that had me doing my own research and I found out that all the major American newspapers reported that Obama and Bush are cousins. Truth be told, the video I am referring to was actually sent to me on July 1st. I actually thought about whether or not I should share the video the same way Dani was kind enough to share it with me. I decided to share the video
As you watch the video, keep in mind all the smear campaigns that they have out there against Obama and be aware that this video could be another one. There is a place in the video where the speaker says "DO NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA". Hopefully you will all do your own due diligence.
All thanks to Dani

Do you think that Obama is a puppet of the illuminati and he himself may not even know it? -
I think this pic says it all:

Yah, funny. Of course it is fictitious, debunked when it appeared after the 2000 election, and then it resurfaced relabeled, debunked again after the 2004 election. You can probably expect it to rerun yet again after 2008, the joke that keeps giving...

on obama's tacking to the right (or not) and some dems freaking out about it, i quite liked this editorial in today's times, by my fave, gail collins.
Think back. Why, exactly, did you prefer Obama over Hillary Clinton in the first place? Their policies were almost identical — except his health care proposal was more conservative. You liked Barack because you thought he could get us past the old brain-dead politics, right? He talked — and talked and talked — about how there were going to be no more red states and blue states, how he was going to bring Americans together, including Republicans and Democrats.
Exactly where did everybody think this gathering was going to take place? Left field? -

That is an awesome column, I don't believe that I buy it all, but I thought that it was _very_ good. Obama should incorporate that sort of thing into his campaign. Flip-flop = bad. Compromise, moving forward = good. Even if the action is exactly the same. -
I thought that was a good column.
