Hates cats?
Ok- so a have a friend who's seeing.....this girl.
I have yet to meet her, but when he mentioned he was seeing her, he also mentioned that she doesn't like cats.
So, I'm curious (seriously, I really am!)- I've met guys who don't like cats ("they're not as cool as dogs....duhhhhhhh"), but it boggles my mind why (aside from allergies) why a chick wouldn't like cats. Just from a "oh, all animals are so cute" standpoint, I guess. Maybe, they don't like animals in general?
Do you know a girl who doesn't like cats? What kind of person is she, in general? I do not trust her..... :-k

I'm a girl that doesn't like cats - well most cats, I'm fine with my brothers' and a friends 2 cats, but that's because I've gotten to know them.
I'm just not a cat person, their creepy and sneaky.
This could all stem from the fact that I got scratched up pretty bad when I was little by a cat. . . -
My wife hates cats, but loves bunnies. We have two big dogs. She's just not a cat person. Lucky for me the last bunny wasn't replaced.
Unfortunately, since the dogs will be "vacationing" at my ex-wife's "farm" while we're away we have to go up and train our mutts to not chase their inside cats, and the outside chickens and geese. The horses can take care of themselves. -

Seriously. Women are PEOPLE. And different people like different things for different reasons. Just because someone is female, that doesn't means there are different reasons why she would dislike something -- she just doesn't like it, that's all.
Why do you accept a guy who doesn't like cats, but you can't accept a woman not liking cats? Why can't a woman just not like cats? There's no need for analysis here. -
i am highly allergic to cats so i'm predisposed not to like them. but in general, it could be that this woman doesn't like being covered in cat hair when she sits on a piece of furniture, thinks their litter boxes smell gross, gets annoyed at any pet that doesn't actually get excited to see their owner...and not all cats are cute.

hehe, i completely agree that no all babies are cute, as well! i love my friends' kids but most of them have had their looks, um, improve, with time.

But you're not "just curious" about guys you meet who don't like cats. You just say "oh, okay, you don't like cats." So why is your reaction to women who don't like cats different? -
I know women who don't like cats.
I don't think it's a big deal and I don't think it reflexs anything about their personality. Now if they seriously hated animals, well, that's different.
My bestfriend doesn't like cats, rolls her eyes at the fact that I love them, she's an amazingly loving trustworthy gal. Always there for me when I need her. She just doesn't like them. As a kid I was a dog lover, then I met the perfect kitty that turned me out. Once I went Cat, I never went back :P -

Personally, cats intimidate me! The look they give people seems to indicate that they are thinking, "What an idiot; I am the far superior being." So I consider myself a "dog person". However, when I visit friends with cats I can't resist petting them- they are so furry and cute, after all, that is until they get bored of being petted and swat at me...

Generally speaking (because I'm a lover of ALL animals) I tend to not trust those that don't like a specific animal (that would make their thinking stereotypical, no? thereby they are also "misled")

Why don't you just tell him how you feel about him? It's hard , right? Well , I think that if you are sure that he has feelings for you too , than you should tell him.

What about the next lady he brings around? You gonna keep looking for things to make you not like them?
My cousin doesn't like cats and that's only becuz she was attacked by one as a kid. She is petrified of them. As soon as she sees one , she'll run behind someone and hide behind them. If you pick up a cat or even a lil kitten and show her that it's harmless she'll scream and run. She's a sweet girl even though she doesn't like cats. -

But MY point was that you didn't try to undergo this "self-education" about why men don't like cats. And that there IS no underlying female reason why women wouldn't like cats -- if a woman doesn't like cats, it's for the same reasons why a man wouldn't like a cat. Some people -- male AND female -- just plain don't like cats, and the reasons why are legion. The reasons also have nothing to do with gender.
But it looks like you're more up in arms about why a SPECIFIC woman doesn't like cats, and that's a whole different story. I say you just make up the worst reason you can think of and say that that's why.

Maybe. Maybe not. I do not treat men and women the same though, in my personal interaction, and doubt anyone does. So, when I question a woman, it's cause I look at them with a viewpoint that is somewhat similiar to my own- them being female and all. I question men's motives on MANY other issues....they are a strange breed. This is one area I don't bother with with men, cause I got SO many others on my list...

I'm a female animal lover who has a history of animal rescue who doesn't like cats. I think they should have loving homes, be properly cared for (and for godsakes, spayed/neutered! goodness!), well fed and tended to, but I would never own one personally. They also don't really make me go "awwww" or make me want to pet them (unless they're kittens cuz kittenz (like most bebie animals) are cute). I am a dog person to the very core of my being.
My husband is also a dog person (who has owned cats growing up) but none of that has anything to do with machissmo. Unless our two female Chihuahua mixes are symbols of masculinity?
In my experience when it comes to animals (at the very least) people are just people, there are no gender lines to go by. -
I seriously dislike cats.... They scare me. They're too quiet. They spend way to much time thinking....... they seem to remember things and keep grudges.... they have a strange stare, like they're plotting on how they can kill you and continue to be fed routinely... Oh and they eat babies faces when they sleep...
I don't think my feelings about cats make me a bad person. :-) A supersticious and kind of dumb person? Maybe. Bad? No
I love dogs though! The stupider the better :-p
