Sweetest Tabby Found Lost in Prospect Park****Update****
(mods, please sticky).
HALP! I was walking the loop in the park today and near the parking lot for the ice rink I found a woman and a cat. She said she had been there for a half an hour trying to figure out a way to help this cat, who had obviously been a house cat and was lost.
I started out with the "I have 2 cats already and can't take any more", and she has two cats AND a baby, so she beat me
Meanwhile, sweet little cat throws herself at my feet, rubbing and purring away.
HOW the hell do these cats spot suckers like us?! Huh?!
So, I got my carrier and my car while the other woman watched her and she's in my house now right next to me. Belly up, purring like crazy and a mad case of jazz hands.
She's young and sociable and very friendly. A little skinny and hungry and has a part of her neck that is growing back from being shaved (a recent vet visit, probably).
I'm going to put up posters, call the vets and shelters, etc., but I simply CANNOT keep her. I've already got two, I travel too much and my landlord told me 2 cats max (yes, I know that's hard to enforce legally, but she lives in the building and often takes care of my cats, so I don't want any trouble and she'd defintely know).
So, please keep your eyes open for posters and also if I can't find her home very soon, she will be up for adoption.
Here are some pics. They don't do her justice. She's gorgeous!

I tried to get a shot of her shaved neck, but coudn't get it in the pic. Here's the best one;

awwww....
she definitely is a looker... -
Dude, she looks seriously comfortable in your crib....that was fast!
I'll keep my eyes open for an empty home. Meanwhile, there's Bergenites' kitty.... -
She's in one of the kitty beds now making some serious muffins. She's very "tall' and when she makes muffins while standing she is a big high-stepper like she's in a marching band.
Stella and her were trying to touch each other under the door (I have her isolated) and there was no hissing or growling at all -
Aww, what a cutie! Flexi - good luck! I hope you have more than I've been having with Dizzy (and she's probably nicer too)...
-
Good luck posting signs, just be sure to hit the other side of the park if you are able, cause shes not necessarily a Park Slope Kitty.
-
Oh my god, she's so pretty. I'm so tempted but I litterally (HA!! litter-ally) have NO room for a poo box!
-
She's gorgeous! Can we come over and visit her?

Will you take her? If so, you can come visit. She's adorable. If she's in fact a she. BrooklynPotter and I are playing vet and we can't tell what's exactly going on back there -
If I didn't think my cat would rip her to shreds, I absolutely would!
-
you should check the local vets offices. if she is sick perhaps her former owners abandoned her rather than treat her.
keep her away from your other kitty in case she has a contagious illness. -
Yes, she is in my office in house without access to my cats.
I checked PPAC, and tomorrow I have to check others.
BGG, this cat would be great with cats. I'm sure of it -
Oh, and litter trained. Damn, the timing on this couldn't be worse for me, but I just could not have left the kitty in the park. So wrong.
-
Sweety cat is so well-behaved. Just wants attention and love. Head butts me all the time to be pet and tries to follow me out of the room.
I'm bringing her to PPAC later today to see if she's microchipped. Fingers crossed! Toes too! -
She's adorable and probably has owners who are missing her something fierce!

I really hope so. She's definitely a house cat who either lost her way or worse (maybe abandoned). A total lover. -
Good news: Kitty has a microchip
Bad news: owner didn't register microchip with tracking company
So, with the help of the wonderful Caseopele (who can attest to the gorgeousness of marching band hand kitty), we've got the chip number. PPAC was told that the chip came from Animal Care and Control, so now the hope is that ACC can find the adoptee. And that this person is looking for their cat.
Fingers still crossed. -

Shit, did I register my cats with aforementioned tracking company??? :-k

Good luck, Flexi. You are so awesome to be taking this on... -
after countless phone calls I found a good foster home for Jazzy (it's a boy!) where he will have plenty of room, another cat buddy and a nice lady looking after him. If nobody claims him (and if she doesn't fall in love with him and keep him herself) I found an adoption agency who will help me place him.
I'm so relieved....and exhausted! -
i *thought* it was a boy!

I really thought so too. He has a boy face with his big nose and being so tall. Plus, none of the belly pooch that fixed females get
Either way, he took to his new foster home immediately and is such an adaptable little guy.
I am extremely relieved that he's someplace safe and happy -
Just curious - how did you find an agency to help you with adoption? Or a nice foster home for that matter... I'm glad it worked out for you, but I'm wondering where all these great people are for the cat I've now had for nearly 5 weeks?!
-
I'll PM you.
-
Oh, I miss this little guy already. So sweet!
He will be up for adoption if his owners don't come forward. If you're interested in a handsome, sweet, adaptable, litter trained kitty with big green eyes, a big nose and giant jazz hands, please PM me -
Flexi, I'm going to unsticky this and move it to the pets board. If you have updated info on how to adopt this fella, post it here and we can re-sticky it.
-
Please re-sticky
Mr. Jazzy will likely be on display for adoption in the Kensington Kitties bus this coming Saturday (July 26). The bus is on 7th Ave. across the street from Sean's liquors.
Please stop by and check him out. If you're thinking of a cat for adoption, this is the boy for you!
Mod note: Done! Please keep us updated -- we try to unsticky anything on the pet board that hasn't had an update in a while or else the board is nuthin' but stickies. And good on ya for looking out for this sweet boy!

Psst, Shawns...
Can't wait to see him! -
Yah, "Shawn's". I knew that.
Caseopele and BrooklynPotter can attest to his awesomeness -
you renamed him "shawns"???
-
Jazzy is seriously awesome and he didn't get that name for nothing!
-
I'll try and stop by to see Jazzy on Saturday. I hope it's not as hot as it was this past weekend!
Howdy, Stranger!
