Went. Decent. Nothing special. A solid Thai meal.

BYOB which is cool especially with Bierkraft so close.

    Across the street from the Patio.

    That new market is across the street on the corner and they have a pretty sweet beer selection themselves. If you get to Mee Thai after Bierkraft closes.

    I had spring rolls and Drunken Noodle and they were typical but good.

    I've been there about 3 times already. i took advantage of the 10% off they had for the opening. The shrimp and beef app. is solid. the drunken noodle is very good. The pad thai is ok, nothing special. The chicken satay (sp?) was atrocious! Seriously, don't get this unless you like flat as a pancake, dry, chewy chicken. Really bad.

    Otherwise, they are very friendly and it's not that expensive.

    5th ave between Berkeley and Lincoln.

    BYOB makes any place seem cool. Cheap seem cheaper. And Drunken Noodle goes down well with Coney Island Albino and Dead Guy Ale.

    odd location....one block away from a very good neighborhood standby in Long Tan and a not-so-good one in Nana.

    i hope they do well, but it does suddenly feel like a thai logjam around there.

    I prefer Nana to Long Tan, but Nana's menu offers more than Thai-influenced food.

    I can't wait to check out this new restaurant! It's on 5th Avenue near Union Street?

    We did take-out last night and held both the Mee and Mango menus in our hands. We really wanted to try Mee, but realized that the Pad Thai at Mango is $3 less AND they offer more protein options. They also do a pretty mean takeout Pad Thai.

    Sorry Mee. I promise to stop in and try you guys out soon, but we went with Mango. I do like your seafood-leaning menu, though.

    I checked out Mee Thai on Friday and have to say that it's one of the better Thai restaurants in the Slope. I ordered 3 appetizers and 3 dishes and all of them were pretty good. It's great that the place is a BYOB which keeps the total on your bill down. Plus, i was really impressed with the service. Their staff are really nice.

    I still think the best restaurants for the most authentic thai food are Wan Dee Siam (in Manhattan) and Sripraphai (in Queens). Having grown up in Thailand, i can tell you that both these places are as close to real thai food as you're ever going to get outside of Thailand.

    No, didn't try the pad thai. I typically order the food in thai so they make it a little spicier and more authentic. I haven't really had any good pad thai in the city or the Slope. Wish there were better thai restaurants in the Slope.

    On a separate note, i don't think there are any good Indian restaurants in the Slope either. I usually travel all the way to Jackson Heights to get the authentic stuff.

    Kinara can get you by, its decent and conveniently located but if you're willing to hike, you're right, jackson heights is the way to go

    I love both those places, but Wondee Siam isn't really in the same league as Sripraphai. I think if you're going to make trip from Brooklyn, sripraphai is the way to go. I go to Wondee only if I'm in the area already.

    Taste of Thai?? I stopped ordering from there because Mango and Rice on Seventh Avenue and Song on 5th Avenue serve up fresher, spicier, larger portions of tastier food faster. My last Taste of Thai seafood dish (compared to what yo get at Rice) felt like a rip off.

    I think Mee Thai is great. I've had it probably 5 or 6 times already. Song is tasty also and cheaper, but Mee Thai's drunken noodles are awesome, as is the BBQ chicken with sticky rice.

    Speaking of Nana, they changed their menu AGAIN. It looks like they added scallion pancakes, some Vietnamese-influenced seafood dishes, and more. Thank god Nana kept the roti bread on the menu.
