Clinton Ave-- what is going on? — Brooklynian

Clinton Ave-- what is going on?

I understand that they are doing some work on the road. But is it really necessary for someone to stand in the middle of the street from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and use a megaphone to tell people to move their cars?

I hear ya, but since their only other option is to tow them, I think the car owners appreciate having as much warning as possible.

My question, actually, is -- have you noticed that all of the "no parking" signs they put up were taped in such a way that the word "parking" was completely obscured?....
  • Agree that's preferable, but they really should just put up signs. That is, signs that actually visible and readable. Not everyone who parks there lives in megaphone-vicinity. Also, the megaphone is going to get old if it goes on for another day.

I guess a picked a particularly inconvenient day for a hangover.

*snerk* From personal experience, I can tell you that even if they put up the most perfect signs ever, there's always going to be some idiot that doesn't read them. So no matter what, we either have a megaphone, or someone screaming about how "the muthafuggas towed my car, man!"

Fortunately, they're resurfacing the street, and that seems to be going pretty quickly -- they got 3/4 of my block done within a day. So you may have only a day or two to cope before they move out of earshot.
  • Boy those were some fun jackhammers yesterday morning at about 6:30 or so on Adelphi btw Myrtle and Park. Totally how I wanted to wake up as opposed to my phone's Beach Boys ringer at 7:30.

And I too had a nice hangover induced headache, lemme tell how much those jackhammers helped that :o
  • I heard about an apartment for rent on Fulton and Cambridge for DIRT CHEAP (2 bedroom)...I am beginning to think it has to do witht he construction.
