    No offense Amyg, but can we PLEASE not have items for sale and apt wanted/for rent on this board, unless it's in a separate place? There's no way I want to wade through these to get to the discussions. Andy? Comments?

    Personally, I'm not going to keep reading this if it turns into Craig's List Lite, which is perfectly adequate for this type of thing. Thank you for reading my opinion! :x

    Just my opinion, but I think it's OK for now. sje, it's easy enough to skip over, no? If message board traffic spikes an we get tons of ads like this then it might be worth reconsidering.

    Ok. But I like to click on the local sales listings at the top and get that info concentrated, when I want to see it. I like the separation of topics under discussion as opposed mixed with for sale/wanteds that already exists.

    oh, I see what you mean... the one thing I've learned is that people use websites in different ways. That's great that you click that link regularly - I was quite proud of that creation. On the other hand, a lot of users don't even know that exists (amyg...? :) )

    Will have to think long and hard about this... Maybe there is a way to put the craigslist-for-sale-in-PH-only list on this page.

    I was aware of the Sales link, but, like you, I suspected not too many people clicked there, plus, I as a user have no conrol over what shows up there really.

    Anyway, I have this one thing to sell, and nothing else, so I won't be posting anymore for-sale posts (and sorry for the apparent lapse in dailyheights etiquette); but I will say that I can't think of anything more vital to a highly-focused community site such as this than apartment listings and items for sale listings. It would be good for our neighbors and prospective neighbors and especially good for the site -- who wouldn't want to go directly to the source for that kind of info?

    If you do plan to restrict listings of various types, would it be possible to put a message at the top of the boards to inform people what is allowed and waht isn't? That way people don't have to get yelled at for doing something that seems natural on a site like this.

    I love that feature, Mr. DailyHeights! PH for sale/wanteds and local gigs are already on this site, Guest, just not mixed up with the discussions, that was my point. It's great to have them here, you can already go directly to the source. Maybe PH apt's could be in that feed also, all tidily together? It already works really well.

    You didn't break any etiquette rules. It's totally reasonable to post your stuff for sale on this board.
