that place on warren
it rules. just had to say. I was cat sitting this weekend and had a scare with the kitteh - they checked her out for me, didn't CHARGE me a penny for it, and were very sweet about the whole thing. in my panic/blah forgot to grab their card, but it's the animal ER on warren. the chick with streak blonde/black hair and facial piercings, while potentially off-putting if that isn't your thing, knows her shit. showed me evidence of no problems, etc. so great.

Agreed!! A few months ago, I accidentally clipped one of my cat's nails too short. I never saw that much blood in my life. Convinced that I mutilated the cat, we ran over to Warren Street. The vet (youngish woman) assured us that it was OK, gave us some powder that stops bleeding, bandaged her foot, and DID NOT CHARGE US! It was a pleasant surprise, considering how many times I've paid $100 for 5 minutes of a vet's time at 5th Avenue Cat Clinic or Animalkind.

I brought my cat to their other location (when they had another location) in Bay Ridge at 2am. Sadly, my cat died that night (long story), but the vet was fabulous and I'm convinced she had great care. I was a babbling mess when they called me and the vet was so patient with me. She even talked to me again a few days later because I was convinced (and still am) that the reason she died was from careless care at another (local) facility.
I went back a few weeks later and donated a bunch of towel, because they are always in need. I had a few that got bleach stained and was just going to toss them, but they were very happy to take them from me. -
they've been great to us, too. didn't charge us when the cat we brought in in a panic was okay right away. really nice, too.

I'm so glad that everyone has something awesome to say about them. I will bring them some donations later this week/next week. but holy shit, shocking how awesome they are. (and the whole time I was talking total shit about animal kind and people just kept giggling - I was being a snot about another local vet but furious and unwilling to take the kitteh there - they all, though, gave me asides about how they fixed animal kind fuckups.)

Is this the emergency vet hospital on warren at smith? That's the only thing on Warren I found via google. It's an emergency and referral only place so you can't use them for routine vet care. Or is it some other place?

I don't know if they do regular care and hope is great as a vet joint. but this place. omg. best ER for pets ever.

alafairnadia, what was your experience at Animalkind? I'm not a fan.

There's a serious (as in long) thread if you do a search. You'll get an eye full.
