and maybe even deter the critter from peeing in there again? (please say yes!)

  • Don't know. Play it safe - go get some Nature's Miracle.
  • I cannot praise Nature's Miracle enough. I think there's a special cat formula, but the orange "flavor" was a lifesaver while housebreaking our dog.

I also sprayed w/ the orange Nature's Miracle--but man, the smell still permeated! I will douse again though.

Any advice on scents to put down to deter him? :cat:
  • Nature's Miracle is great, but you really need to soak it. If it's on a rug, make sure you soak all the way through to the padding.

Also, it works best if you haven't tried anything else first. Before water, vinegar or anything, start with the NM
  • I've had luck with vinegar and ground pepper...well, it depends on where the "spot" is...but yes, I have used vinegar and it does (usually) work.

    Vinegar...nature's miracle. :)
  • Dont know the type of surface but I know bleach mixed with some water would do the job.
  • Yup, it worked for me when one of my cats went on a rug.

But you would also want to rule out that the cat has a medical problem (a visit to the vet might be in order) or a stress issue (new apartment, new additional pets, etc etc) that is making the kitty act out.

You may also want to try Cat Attract, which is a special kind of litter that encourages kitty to use the box.
  • also, make sure the litter is not near the food.....because you wouldn't want to eat in your bathroom either!
