Drop-off/Delivery Laundromats — Brooklynian

Drop-off/Delivery Laundromats

Hi everybody! I just moved to Franklin and Pacific and was wondering about other laundromat options aside from the ones that are on Fulton a minute away from the C and Shuttle station. I've already had bad experiences with both -the one to the west mixed whites with colors and the other "lost" a couple of towels.
Any suggestions of reliable drop-off/delivery laundromat services in the area?
Is Island Bubbles any good?
Thanks in advance.

  • I used to use Bubbleworks, until they took an extra day and a half to return my laundry, and never returned my calls of complaints. Terrible experience.

Now there's a laundry on St. Marks between Classon and Franklin, and you can drop off. Don't think they do delivery. Used their drop off once, and my laundry came out great. Don't know if it has a name, ha.

Don't know if that's too far for you or even helpful, but that's what I got.
  • No, it's not that far at all, I'll look into it, thanks!
  • Bubbleworks is so overpriced and half the time they mess up your laundry.

I'm not one of these people who complains a lot about this kind of thing either but I finally had to stop using them.

Also, an exterminator told me that you can get bed bugs from laundry trucks these days and it's better to do drop-off service at a facility that strictly keeps the dirty laundry begs away from the clean laundry bags. I am totally paranoid about bugs so I'm convinced to schlep it myself (even if I don't currently have time to wash it myself) to a place that does it on-site.
  • Oh, Bubbleworks WAS expensive. Yuck.

Which reminds me that the new one on St. Mark's has only a $5 minimum for drop-off. Also, I don't know if this will stay true or whether it's a promotion while it's new, but if you do your laundry yourself, dryers are free. (Don't add any money -- just push a button to start it!) Washes are $2, $3 and $4 depending on the size of the machine.
  • I know they have drop off but I don't know how it good it is. I use the laundromat on Franklin between Lincoln and St. John's. It's $1.75 to $3.50 for wash and $0.25 for 8 minutes of drying (so like $1 for a load)
  • hi... whats the address for the new one on St. Marks?

Do you know if they have 1 day service or same day?
  • just as an fyi... I checked out the Laundromat on St. Marks (between Classon and Franklin). I dropped off my laundry at 75 cents a pound up to 10 pounds and 65 cents there after.

I dropped it off at around 11am (2 huge bags) and I they were ready by 3pm that afternoon.

Everything I sent came back, and actually smelled really good!!

I have to try the place again... to make sure its really great... but so far it seems better than laundry king.
  • I recently tried the St. Mark's laundromat and had a good experience, the clothes were clean and smelling nice. My only quip is that they seem to have somebody else's underwear piece with one of ours, but that tends to happen in all laundromats.
  • Just tried the new laundromat on St. Mark's b/w Classon and Franklin. It's actually really really close to the southeast corner of Classon. I used the drop off service and everything came out great and smelling nice as previously reported in this thread. Also, this place is brand new and actually pretty nice inside with new machines and a flat screen TV. I may actually begin to do my own laundry. Imagine that.
  • Did not know the dry-cleaner at Franklin and Atlantic also had regular drop-ff laundry service. While they close early -7pm- they do a very good job, plus, their dry-cleaning is pretty good, in fact, they took off stains that other dry-cleaners did not. I'm sticking with this one since it's on the way to the train station.
  • Yeah I hated Bubble Works, too. I went to that place on Grand and Prospect Place.
