The fishing there this weekend is the annual kids fishing event, it is purely catch and release. other than that, I don't believe fishing is ever allowed, though, I have seen people at other times of the year fishing in various lakes.

Actually, anyone CAN fish in prospect park all year long and it's always catch and release. They've got great fishing apparently with NYS fishing license. I've got rods and have been meaning to try it but haven't gotten around to getting a license yet.

PP Lake actually has a pretty extraordinary bass population, I'm told -- like one of the best in lower NY state.

My youngest went with his friend today to the fishing thing at Prospect Park and neither of them caught a fish-neither did the mom who brought them or the younger sister of my child's friend. But, they did say that a guy next to them caught a bullfrog!
