where do i direct complaints about traffic cops? — Brooklynian

where do i direct complaints about traffic cops?

i am fuming, after following a traffic cop car driving erratically up 8th ave, left onto flatbush, looking very slowly for expired meters and registrations, in th emiddle of saturday afternoon traffic. she stopped on flatbush avenue, in a traffic lane, to get out and issue a ticket. i at least pulled into the hydrant to get out and scream at her for blocking an entire lane of traffic on flatbush ave on a saturday afternoon.

having a kid in the car, i gave up pretty easily, but i do still want to report this moron. where to?

  • im not sure where to file a complaint but if anyone knows i would LOVE to have that info!
among all of the red-light running, speeding, and reckless driving that i would like to report
we got a ticket the other day for being parked at a fire hydrant.
my gf was IN the car reading!!!!
i went in to feed my traveling friend's cats and she stayed in the car
they snuck up behind her and since she was reading she didn't see them.
and she stayed in the car because she didn't want to leave the car double parked
    GRRRRRR
  • You probably complain the police which means that doing so does absolutely nothing. You may get a follow up phone call after nothings been done.
  • Did you get the number of the traffic cops car?

If you feel strongly enough about it, call 311 or look online for the head of the department and write a letter. Not an email, but a letter. cc. Ray Kelly, Bloomber, Tish, God etc... ad nauseum. I know it's a butload of work, but as the saying goes "shit rolls downhill". This will end up in someones file.
  • The worst is when they ticket your car but dont actually give you a ticket. Then months later you get a notice with a late charge and THERE IN NO F-ING WAY TO CONTEST IT!!!
  • Traffic cops have a crappy job and don't get paid very well, and I wish there were 20 of them on Flatbush Avenue ticketing every single lazy selfish can't-walk-two-blocks-to-a-store double-parker. Complain about her? With all the !@#$ she deals with, and all the idiotic driving and parking we endure every day, I'll buy her a damn cup of coffee.
