what neighborhood has more selection of essentials? prospect heights or south brooklyn?

    i consider south brooklyn red hook, carroll gardens, gowanus,and cobble hill.

    That's how I think of South Brooklyn, too, but in that case, it's no contest at all--South Brooklyn obviously wins. South Brooklyn is just a much huger area than Prospect Heights. If you included Park Slope with Prospect Heights, then maybe you'd have a contest.

    I believe that "South Brooklyn" referred to the communities to the south of the city of Brooklyn ... my dad grew up in the 30s in what is now Park Slope, but he called it South Brooklyn.

    It's very creepy watching the trucks pull out of there loaded up with caskets ... it's one of those industries you'd prefer to have operate under the "radar screen." But, yea, I guess it's part of the "economic engine" that is South Brooklyn.
