Caterwalling Found Cat on Underhill + Sterling
Does anybody know of somebody who lost a white cat in the neighborhood? Please, please, for the love of god, if you do, please pick it up from the good people next to the church on the corner of Underhill and Sterling Place. They found it last week and have been keeping it under their stoop, which is open to the elements. It has been crying bloody murder since Friday, often in the middle of the night. They have posted signs around the hood trying to locate the old owner or a potential new owner. Maybe if someone claims it and keeps it inside, it will stop the howling? And then we can all sleep again.
Much thanks.
Much thanks.

I have loud (human) neighbors, so my heart goes out to you...
If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend that you or the folks next door:- Call 311 to report the cat to Animal Care & Control, which keeps a database of lost and found pets. Don't turn the cat over to them, however, as they practice euthanization.
Post the photo and description on petfinder.org.

maybe also call the ASPCA if it is a case of animal neglect, like... keeping the animal under the porch? it's f-n cold, WTF?!

Subject: calling ASPCA - would probably do more harm than good.
they are not neglecting the cat. they are trying to help but obviously can't bring the cat indoors. don't call the ASPCA - i would guess the cat would then inevitably end up at Animal Care & Control and probably be euthanized. the other suggestions, petfinder, etc. make sense. thanks. -
I saw a poster on a mailbox on Underhill the other night that had a picture of a very, very white cat with kind of reddish around the eyes, like it was crying or something, or maybe it was albino, i don't know. there was area code #347 number on it to call. is that the same cat?

Subject: Cat
You need to call the ASPCA or animal control. It is inhumane for the cat to be outside when it is this cold outside. It sounds like it is howling from distress. Use animal control as your last alternative but they would be able to come and get the cat. Euthanasia is better than freezing to death! -
Subject: way off...
cats can survive the cold. it's not even that cold yet. the cat may just be scared or lonely. i have never heard a cat screaming from being cold. i think this information is just misplaced. it's not in the best interest of the cat.
Howdy, Stranger!
