Daily Car Rental in Park Slope

I need to rent a car just for the day next saturday. I'm a zipcar member but all their cars are already reserved. I've called the local car rental shops (Speedy, Enterprise) but they're closed on the weekends so require you to rent (and pay for) Friday to Monday.

Anyone have any suggestions on a nearby place that is open on the weekends and will rent a car for just one weekend day?

    It will take longer, but you can save money by going to Newark airport and picking one up. I haven't actually done this, but heard about others doing so.

    There are definitely also places in Manhattan open 7 days, but you'll pay a premium.

    There's an Avis (I think, but it may be a Hertz) on Atlantic across from the Brazen Head that keeps weekend hours.

    Unfortunately the Brooklyn Avis closes at 3pm on Saturdays, with no after hours drop off.

    Another option (which I'm about to use in a few weeks) is the Avis in Jersey City, near the PATH train.

    D'Oh! This may have been what I was thinking of. Makes more sense than going all the way to Newark.

    I noticed that there's a car rental place by that garage on Union St next to Dixon's that had a sign saying they do hourly car rentals. I don't know the name, though - it could be Speedy, as etccdb mentioned.

    I've rented from both Hertz and Avis in Stamford CT, directly across the street from the Metro North Sation, and usually am able to return it in the city for no extra charge. Much cheaper to rent there but be aware there is no insurance provided at all

    If there are none available in the Slope you could try Prospect Heights, we usually do not have trouble getting one. Saturdays can be tough though!
