walking scores in USA

I can not believe that NYC has a lower walking score than San Fran. I mean come on . What are they walking to should be the question. I like San Fran but this makes no sense.

Public transportation in SF is terrible - you just end up walking long distances to get anywhere. Our subway and bus system - distance and schedule-wise - is far superior.

NYC also includes Staten Island, which - for the most part - isn't very walkable at all.

i was surprised too. san fran is hilly, and i dont consider that too be very walkable.

I walk a lot in SF, here in NY I just jump on the subway especially because I have a month pass so it makes being lazy easy. SF parking/public transportation sucks so you rather walk.
