Real quick coned bill question...

no, I'm not supposed to get a bill (my utilities are included)

Its actually an issue a friend of mine is having, his landlord is saying that he's going to raise his rent if the electric bill doesnt decrease but his utilities are included (and there's no condition about utilities in his lease, i checked.) the landlord forwarded him the coned bill and it was like $600...but I'm fairly positive it's for the WHOLE BUILDING bc 1) theres no way he used that much power in a studio and 2) the bill doesnt mention the unit, just the address and 3) I'm almost 100% that there's only on meter for the entire building or else the landlord wouldn't be paying the electric in the first place.

Anyway. Thats the long version of it haha. I told hiim to maybe respond to the letter saying he'll use less AC but pointing out that his AC is from like 1960 and doesn't even have knobs anymore nevermind a thermostat and also to ask his landlord how exactly he knows that it's his apartment causing the increase when all of the apartments seem to be on one bill.

I was kind of pissed that the guy tried to pass off the bill as just his. Like ANY studio would ever eat that much electricity. Plus I dont see him offering to give a rent break in feb when there's almost no electricty used at all. Landlords suck.
