Fashion design

Hi everyone,

My future sister-in-law has been looking for a job in fashion design (not exactly sure what type) but is having a hard time getting her "foot in the door". She got her certificate from Otis College in L.A. and moved back out here. She's a bit on the shy side so it's been really hard for her.

Can anyone give some advice on breaking into this industry? Or in making the right connections?

Thanks,
Jose

  • Get over being shy and fake it!

There are plenty of internships available - it will get her foot in the door and maybe even lead to a permanent job.

She should also approach boutiques with her designs or maybe even start her own stall.

Good luck to her. It's a vicious world.
