Exceptionally nice bartenders in the Slope

People often rail on places where the service stinks, but I'd like to offer everyone an opportunity to discuss their favorite bartenders in the Slope.

Mine has to be Dan at Dram Shop. Every time I've been there and he's been at the bar, he's just been fantastic. He's friendly, he acknowledges everyone, he knows about the beers and things he serves....in short, he's the type of bartender that makes you want to go back and drink more.

Any other standouts or favorites in the area?

  • I don't go out too much locally, but there's a guy at Sidecar (blondish, tall, lots of tattoos) who is nice....also the guys at Toby's have been great both times I've been there.

(queue discussion about boundaries of Park Slope proper in 3.....2.....1)
  • Heather at Steinhoff kicks ass, as do both male bartenders.

I was surprised by the decent service at Steinhoff myself. They have their act together.

Johnny Mac's charming waitresses are nice enough to automatically forgive when they screw your watered-down drinks up.

Bar 4 had a friendly, good bartender las t time I went.

A female bartender at Commonwealth was good.
  • David the owner/head bartender of Quarter is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Makes a mean drink too.
  • The lady behind the bar in AJI is awesome. A while back I explained to her that I don't do drinks with refined sugar added and I wondered if she could do a mojito without it. Well she did and drink was terrific. Now, every time I go in there she just knows that is what I want before I order anything and starts squishing up that mint.

Ditto that, and about the general service as well.

The Steinhoff crew really know how to run that place. My gf & I have become semi-regulars, and about the only thing we have to complain about are the fruit flies (which are basically everywhere else, anyway). Everything else about the place -- the food, the staff, the service, the drinks, and the totally unpretentious feel of it all -- is superb. It's just so comfortable & welcoming there.

There's a guy at Eurotrip (I know, not quite the Slope) who's super cool, too.
  • I'm a big fan of Nick over at Sheep Station. Aaron too.
  • Reis, The owner of Bar Reis is a cool dude. Very laid back and gives great service.

All the Bartenders at Royale are awesome.
  • Kristin, over at Park Street Ale House, is the queen of all barfolk.

(Although, I do remember Mr. Dram Shop as being very easy on the eyes....)
  • Love Shay and Megan at Stone Park and loved Nat too before he left
  • The guy with long dark hair (in a ponytail) at Blue Ribbon!

    I second that... Kristin rocks!
  • Ooh, like the ponytail guy too.
  • there's a female bartender at commonwealth who i really enjoy.
  • Pat, the bartender at The Gate, is terrific.
  • Kristin...totally!

All of the Commonwealth bartenders are cool...except for this one chick who kept opening the side door in the winter after about three customers kept closing it because it was so cold out. I don't know who she was but (to confuse matters) she wasn't the super-cool chick who works there and at Two Boots- she rocks! The other one- not so much, especially after we'd dropped like a hundred bucks on the bartender who had just closed out before her.

The peeps at the Gate are great too.

Reis is cool but one of his female employees always brings me down when I'm there. She just whinges all the time about crap.

The owners of Beer Table are super nice as well as just about everyone at Bar BQ.
  • I have a new mad crush on Meghan, the bartender at Flipster's (formerly Bklyn Burger Bar). Beautiful smile and eyes behind completely nerdy glasses. (I have no idea if she's a good bartender, I didn't notice.)
