  • nice ones!
  • saw wanted last week (teh HOTT - cross btwn the matrix and any given john woo movie). this song was part of the soundtrack - immediately put a smile on my face:

though, while I think their choice was obvi, the second would have also been perfect. same message. woe, doom, my life is lame, etc.
  • Okay. I have to see that. Before it leaves the beeg screen.
  • Btw, here's what Skin / Skunk Anansie's been up to in more recent years:

    Skin: "Faithfulness"

    Totally Bond-flick worthy, no?
  • totally. new grace jones? ;)

I like punk/industrial/metal/goth bands where the lead singer can actually sing. while I wasn't one to listen to skunk anansie when they were a big deal (I was too much of an industrial head) I think this skin stuff might be more my speed more right now. and I was aware of them as an amazing group just not my thing. clearly, must load up ipod.
  • Check out this Top of the Pops duet she did with Bjork for "Army of Me":

    Talk about a fun show...

And speak of the debil, Grace Jones is actually coming out with a new album.

    Here's her latest:

    Hee. Day-umm.
  • fucking awesome duet. have you heard the nin remix of army of me?

of course. I can't find it but it's on my computer. that's currently ded under my desk. erk. (think there's a power supply issue) thank goodness for laptops.

as a complete aside, I think it's kinda awesome yet vaguely creepy that nin, tori and bjork have all worked together in all sorts of odd ways. since I love all three, the creepy factor is low, but yeah.

the new grace jones sounds pretty cool. not sure if I love it or ... want it. but it is not objectionable. :)
  • Reading some of the bands a couple of you are/used to be into I just thought I'd throw this in...

I was listening to KEXP podcasts the other day and started to really dig a band called Firewater. I couldn't place the lead singer's voice, but I knew I'd heard him elsewhere...then I figured out that he was the founder of the dual bass band Cop Shoot Cop...that took me back a bit...
  • a friend in london rec'd these just now. awesome.

    the more mellow, chill song:

sunn o))) & boris - the sinking belle

  • whoa! just saw a routine set to this on so you think you can dance -- fucking awesome:

    mirah - the garden

according to wiki she went to evergreen state u and, not a shocker, the rest of her music sounds very kinda hippy dippy, not my style really. but. that song made me think of another band I love (partly because of mirah's name and partly because the beat structures of two of miranda sex garden's songs that I can recall - though the vocal sof MSG are much more cranes):

miranda sex garden - peep show

  • Another new one...

    M.S.K. - "Lunar"

  • Another new one...

    Ratatat - "Mirando"

Reminds me quite a bit of...

Daft Punk - "Aerodynamic" (video from the friggin' epic Interstella 5555 flic)
  • This song is awesome.

Little Jackie - The world should revolve around me

New Kids On The Block - SummertimeUploaded by NKOTB-Official

    NKOTB are back!

    I was a big fan.

Joey was and still is my favorite.
  • Capleton - Burn Dem

  • Ras Kass - Nature of the Threat
