Good tattoo artists? — Brooklynian

Good tattoo artists?

longtimesloper
edited November -1 in Park Slope
I already have 2 tats and would like 1 more. I left a message for the person who did these 2, but, it has been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back from her.

So, I was wondering if someone had a recommendation for a tattoo artist in this neighborhood. I know there are a few people around, just not sure who to go to. Again, please, only people in PS. thanks!

  • The guy on Union between 4th and 5th on the basement floor below the new eyeglasses place -- he is a super nice fellow and serviceable (I know two very straightforward pieces he's done, and they are good)

If you're needing supergroovy free hand artiste work, I think you have to leave the confines of PS
  • Are you talking about Third Eye? Aren't there a few different tattoo artists working out of there?

Tthat is actually the place i went to and left a message for Maya, the owner. but, she hasn't gotten back to me. Which guy at Third eye do you recommend?

And, no, I am not looking for anything supergroovy free hand artist work, thanks!
  • Sad that Maya is hard to get in touch with...She did mine and I love it - was hoping to get another from her. :-( Keep me posted?
  • My boyfriend is a good tattoo artist...not in PS though ;) Sorry!

She did both of mine many many years ago. The first one back when she was working for Huggy Bear upstiars on 3rd & 7th where the dentist is now. When I went into Third Eye a few weeks ago-they said she had a 6 month old baby-so, that it might take a while for her to call me back-but, still, 3 weeks is a long time.
  • Hand of Glory did a great job on mine -- 7th ave near 14th Street!
  • ^^Good to know! My neighbor is good friends with the guy who runs that place and he recommended them-but, my neighbor has never had a tattoo done. i really wanted to hear from people who have had work done, thanks.
  • I also know someone that had a very nice job done at Hand of Glory. She got a really intricate Art Nouveau done. They took their time and worked very carefully. I'll probably go there when I decide what my next one will be.
  • I think the owner is on maternity leave.
Louie (one of the guys down there with all the tats) did my tattoo a month ago and he did an amazing job. Really nice and unassuming.
  • Jeff @ Hand Of Glory!

This is the guy on Union Street, yes? Looks like him anyway.
Sorry, I don't know the name of the business.
When they opened, people talked about Maya who worked with Huggy Bear being there, but I just see that guy. He's nice.

If we've moved on to outside the nabe, NY Adorned, Stephanie Tamez (a PS resident) and many others.
