Nail polish question - black tie wedding!
So we're going to a black tie wedding in 2 weeks...my dress is sort of a punch color (dark orangey pink) and looks very early-60s vintage. Am planning to wear open-toed shoes.
Question: I would ordinarily go with a pale/neutral pedicure, but have a huge, gross bruise on one of my big toe nails (my toe got between my dog and a toy he was chasing around...ouch). Is it tacky to match my pedicure to my dress? Should I cross my fingers that the bruise isn't too, too noticeable through pale polish?
I suspect that this is a fairly conservative wedding-crowd.

what color are your shoes? Is it "peep toe" or a strappy sandal?

go pale--some of the polishes are pretty opaque, so the bruise shouldn't be a problem. Plus, you can get mileage from it after the event.

They are peep-toe d'orsay pumps. Dark gold.
I'm leaning toward pale......I'll keep playing with different brands for opacity...some of them look chalky. -
Black. Black nail polish= What bruise?
I like black on my toe nails.
Ok back to you - black? Black tie event , maybe they might think it's ..... different? It's okay to be different. You be different that day. Do it for the poor toe that has the bruise. -
Have your 'curist "white out" the bruise with some white polish, or polish that matches your skin tone, then go over it with the sheer stuff.
I wouldn't stress about it too much, though. -

...because the center of attention will likely be the wedding couple and not my big toe??

:-)
I like the white out idea....
@Em: my toes are usually black or bright purple or hot pink or similar. -

almost everyone I've been to a frou frou nail salon (or even not) women are asking for multi-layered polish of different colors. white first, then pale pink, etc. covers so many toe wrongs.

totally agree with Alafairnadia... thats go with the multii-layer with pale colors!

and besides lol... if you notice someone is staring at your toe for a long time... at least at the end of the day you know who at the wedding has a serious foot fetish!!
