Are your from Brooklyn? If not, where are you from? — Brooklynian

Are your from Brooklyn? If not, where are you from?

Why did you move here?

Just curious. I'm not working out any theories or looking for angles. Truly, I am just curious.

Took a three week temp job in book publishing to earn my airfare out, fell in love with the industry, stuck in NYC ever since. • I grew up in Princeton, MA (one town over from Carmen actually) which is a very small suburb of Worcester. It was a much different environment thank NYC - you can't see your neighbors from your house, tons of woods, a mountain summit 5 miles away. Beautiful area, but everything shuts down in the area at 9 pm and the town doesn't even have a gas station or regular traffic lights (to be fair it has a couple blinking lights).

After high school I left for college at Hofstra University not far out in Long Island (Hempstead) and the visits home became shorter and shorter until they were a couple weekends a year.

In the Fall after I graduated I moved to Crown Heights since it was either NY or LA and LA didn't hold much interest for me. So here I am now. I love the city and Brooklyn especially but I think I'm going to do either the Americorps or Peace Corps after this next year. After that, who knows...
